International Bank transfer

Hi, I have a problem with bank transfer. When I’m about to finish the procedure for the international transfer appears to me the message “validation failure country missing”. How can I do ?

That means the you are trying to transfer to a country which not yet supported by Monzo/Transferwise.

Which country you are trying to send this?

I’m trying to send money to Italy. But during the procedure I didn’t find a space to select the country (only to select the currency- Euro)

Euro is definitely supported - You should check with COps on live chat.

How can I do this?

Does the IBAN follow this format but with the country code showing as IT?
It should be 27 characters in length.

Go to Help on your Monzo App and scroll down to the bottom - You will see Chat button there.

they didn’t ask me the IBAN, just the account number

Interesting, I haven’t ever done an international transfer but I would have thought it should have asked.

Unless someone else can clarify best to contact in app support.

Hi there - I am having the same issue but with a friend’s details in the U.S.

I get as far as confirming the payment then receive an error message “payment cannot be completed - please try again in a minute”. I’ve tried for over an hour and nothing happens.

What shall I do?

Firstly, check that you have the correct details of the person you are sending the money to.

Then open a Transferwise account and use them to send the money. :+1:

I didn’t realise that you had to open a transferwise account - thought you could do it straight through the monzo app?
