Theyāre both money chaching kind of sounds but quite different.
You can set any sound you like - in android itās in app settingsā¦ There are 3 sounds these days, account credited, account debited and important (which appears to be the system default sound). Used to be a few more IIRC.

I have but one suggestion:
Theyāll be different teams that do different roles.
More than likely the āteamā or person working on this would mostly be hired to do this type of stuff.
Future development such as UI with managing funds will be a different department. So theyāll be some working on the improvements in addition to this.
At least Iāll of thought so as the sound is already perfect so changing it isnāt urgent in my eyes.

Thanks everyone, lots of interesting takeaways for us here. The most useful being that folks generally donāt have a problem with the current sound.
As some of you have already said, this work would never happen instead of work on things like joint accounts and so on. If we decide to do this itāll be properly prioritised against other work.

I absolutely love the current cha-ching sound when money gets credited or debited from my account. This is one of the reasons I joined (among others).
It means they can shout from the rooftops about it on Twitter and Facebook / Insta, the youths will make themselves all wet about it and engagement will be up again.

Side note, donāt try changing the sound to play around on Androidā¦ Turns out thereās no way to restore it to the app provided one without uninstalling and reinstalling! I was just trying to find a way to hear the current ones!

On a serious note though, I saw a video the other day about Sound Design in the Dutch retailer Albert Heijn, whoāve chosen to use some deliberate sound design at the self checkout.
Will dig out a link if I can find.
Thereās a thing called sonic branding, which is where a sound is associated with a brand.
Think the McDonaldās āIām loving itā jingle or (if youāve ever used French railways) the second or so of tune that SNCF plays.
Personally, Iād quite like something unique but not too brashā¦
