HSBC Chat

I have the same image but on my phone the head is lower than the tabs and does not get in the way.

Of course I’m using Android but that’s not to say I haven’t found and reported a number of other issues…

They sworn secrecy and scared HSBC will magically find them and banish them like a Traitor.

More like the app blocks screenshots and cant be bothered to do anything else to get a photo of it

Does it? Is that an Android only thing?

Definitely blocked on my Samsung phone

Yeah android have different security implementations than iOS.

I did have about 4-5 surfers looking out to sea, which I’d got used to. Then it just randomly changed to this after at least a few weeks of it being the previous image.

I had the children at the beach then the one man walking through water

Think it depends on the account type you have. I just have the standard HSBC account

I thought this but now I’m not sure. I think they just rotate. Premier has given me surfers both times of different versions.

I’m Premier and have only had the guys at the beach with surfboards and the guy in the water with the large rear, so far.

It does make you wonder what will come next.

For all your premier users

Do you actually find any of the “perks” any good. I feel like I’ve used none of them. Tried the home and away once.

Not really. I wouldn’t pay for it, put it that way. I was given Premier status by HSBC for free, so figured it was worth taking.

Travel insurance can be useful, depending on the type of holidays you take.

I was thinking of rejoining HSBC however I’ve previously had a terrible experience with them so not sure if it’s worth the hassle.

I’m scared to apply again in case it causes any issues like before.

What are you hoping to gain by rejoining?

Access to the premier credit cards.

Travel insurance and overseas accounts are quite useful things, but not groundbreaking.

Haven’t bothered looking into home and away stuff yet

The free travel insurance is a decent policy and the ease of opening/using overseas account.

With the (free) Premier Credit card, I have benefited from the extended warranty which includes accidental damage.

HSBC give Premier customers a better interest rate on some products. Sadly these days that seems to be mainly mortgages rather than savings accounts.

And while I haven’t used it, I understand they have reintroduced 24/7 telephone CS for Premier customers. (Where is @jo when you need him?)

I’ve looked at this in the past and always thought the range of offers was poor, embarrassingly so for a bank like HSBC especially given it is a “global” scheme and too narrowly focused…

When HSBC Advance had their own perks scheme in the UK, it always seemed much better for UK customers…

The Travel Insurance is excellent and, especially since it’s free, is extremely good value. I’ve found value from having it on a number of trips.

The “Home & Away” offers I could take or leave them, I have once or twice used the Europcar ones.

But I really like the whole account. It gives you access to some better credit cards plus the experience for me at least has been “premier”. The wealth manager and customer service have both proved useful. (The former was a one off call they offered).

Honestly I wouldn’t bother rejoining just for this. They are nice looking cards but the offers are not great, nor is the points capture. I’d suggest AMEX would be better depending on your needs of course.

That said I’ve found them to be excellent the last few years, I’ve no complaints here.

It is my understanding that Premier customers get 24/7 phone support.

From HSBC “Contact Us” webpage:

Honestly, this wording really annoys me. They should just say this:

Tbh I do like the premier support as they answer very quick and seem to know what’s what. Do feel you used to get a bank manager or something though?

I do hope (like they alluded to) a better range of perks for the account.
