£19.99 BT Employee, BT Plus Fttc 80/20 with BT Sports etc all free. If anyone is with BT call within the last month of your contract and decline every offer they give you, and then they’ll get you on a manager special deal which is always the cheapest. Also helps if you say another provider is offering xyz for £.
This is the worst bit of being in a single provider area.
“I don’t want broadband with you anymore”.
“Ok that’s all cancelled for you, thanks for calling”.
It’s about £80 a month. Most of the city it’s around £50 but there is only one provider in my area as it’s new (so they jack up the price). Unfortunately communications is a massive rip off in Canada with Robellus (Rogers, Bell and Telus) having a duopoly in almost all of Canada (Telus & Shaw in the West and Rogers and Bell out East). Our monthly phone bill is around 320$ for 4 of us! Shaw does have a newer budget phone network but it only has coverage in the major cities (with some major ones still missing, like Montreal) and even then it’s a bit crap.
Our air industry is the same though, with just having two major airlines (WestJet and Air Canada) who charge extortionate amounts for domestic fares. It’s often cheaper to fly from Vancouver or Calgary to London than it is Toronto.
Yeah ours is very similar to that for 1gbps. It’s about £75 once the joining offers cease.
Here’s hoping for more competition. I’ve always felt it’s hard to support the anti competitive laws we have until you’ve lived in it. Then you can’t help but back them.
I was on exactly the same pricing - I negotiated that £21 fibre charge down to £9, and Line Rental Saver knocked a couple of quid off the phone charge.
