Greggs for me was cold probably more than half the time when I used to go all the time during college so I see nothings changed lol.
How you liking the card?

I suppose the main problem with the Pret offer over the Greggs offer is that there isnāt one available.
My closest Pret is 24 miles away, I have a Greggs 1 mile away and 29 others within that 24 miles.
Why didnāt they choose McDonalds? Iād like free chips every week - canāt eat anything from Greggs
Iāve had my Greggs for the week, good deal considering an individual sausage roll is Ā£1.20 each, so Monzo are paying Ā£4.80, if you have one every week
This is pretentious, last week you wouldnāt eat near a container!
Exactly. So people prefer Pret in the area people live (London) and then in the countryside they prefer Greggs.
Basically, what Americanās think is the UK, you have Pret
Rest of the UK is Greggs
Itās pretty much wilderness outside of London anyway. Scary place.
I mean itās a sliding scale of container grunge food place ā Pret ā actual decent stuff ā too crap to eat.
Iāve never had Pret so canāt comment but for the price Greggs is a rip off IMO.
Just wait until you go into a Pret, >Ā£5 for a sandwichā¦ its called Pret for a reason PRETentious
I donāt think Greggs is a rip off, its all freshly cooked food, (it goes cold as they are not allowed to keep it warm as that then incurs VAT) and is cheap, you can get a sarnie, a drink and a treat for less than Ā£5
My nearest Pret is 197 miles away. My nearest Greggs is 169 miles away. And Iād have to catch a boat (or a plane) just to get to them!
Canāt we get a weekly Tesco meal deal instead? I have one of those a few miles away.
Isnāt everything a rip off nowadays?
Greggs is a lot of things, not sure you can call it a rip off.
How much should a coffee and a sausage roll be if you think itās a rip off there?
Now I picture you driving 169 miles just to redeem a sausage roll for self-persuasion of value
I will never go into a Pret so I donāt need to worry about it.
You know all the pies, pastries, etc are āfreshly cookedā from frozen though, yeah?
Iām not complaining. I like Greggs but thatās not fresh in my eyes.
They come in frozen and are baked, yes.
I think it stems from the comparison of Pret where they come in cooked, and are then re-heated which seems to cost more.
Itās so they can not charge VAT. If they kept it in a heated shelving unit they would have to add 20% on. They try to keep them warm but ultimately tax gets in the way.
Personally I like Pret, I find those who hate Pret usually have a bee up their bonnet but there we are.
Iām also biased because Iāve worked there before.
Iām even more biased because thereās a Pret in my apartment building so itās closer than any Greggs ever would be.
