Google Pixel Discussion

Long shot but does anyone use two Pixel Watches?

I got my son’s old scratched PW1 and, despite insisting I would never wear a watch, I’ve had a ball with all the Fitbit stats, sleep tracking etc.

After only a week or so I already find myself looking at the newer, bigger PW3 but I’d be loathe to wear it while working as I’d have a high chance of damaging it.

So, really I’m wondering if all the data will make sense to the Fitbit app if I’m swapping between the two watches. :person_shrugging:t2:

Worth a try. Google have shoehorned wearable/health devices to reporting to Google Health Connect via your Google account. So assuming you’re only wearing one at once, that one would send data to your account as it is used (the other one wouldn’t, as it is ‘statue’d’) - and vice-versa.

Using two at once would be quite the test, and sociably curious at the same time.

To be honest i know myself well enough to know that now it’s in my head it’s just a matter of time before I buy it, just wondering if anyone else is actively doing it.

I’ve been on the fence with getting the PxWatch3 since launch, with an increasing need for decent health tracking (a’la Fitbit) - but battery life being the big question mark.

Then when the OnePlus Watch 3 launched - no brainer. Cheaper, insane battery, reports to Health Connect (plus more), great oHealth app = v. happy so far (short-term experience) - and I’m a massive Pixel fan!

Another pixel battery issues, this time the 7a.

If yours is affected and under warranty you get $456 , out of warranty is $200 or $300 google store credit.

If yours is affected it will be worth getting a new battery, ee do official replacements for £40 although can insist on a reset even though it has repair mode.

unaffected here, phew.
I sent my 7a for a warranty repair last September (can’t even remember why now!) and they sent me a new one rather than a reconditioned one, so maybe it’s older batches that are affected.

Google’s battery woes continue

Anyone looking at a new Pixel on Wed then?

I was going to, but my Pixel 7 died unexpectedly so I had to grab a replacement. I jumped on a bargain for the Pixel 9 Pro XL and I’m not looking back – the price gap is likely to be big for what seems like very few extra features on the 10.

Sounds like we might get faster charging and Pixelsnap will mean a load of new magnetic accessories to buy.

I’m definitely considering a 10 Pro XL.

My first gen Pixel Fold became unusuable a couple months back, luckily I was in the US at the time and Google were running an insane Pixel 9 promo for a couple days, I paid about £500 for it. So that’s been my interim phone, which I’ll likely trade in for the 10 Pro XL.

I’m definitely getting the 10, my phone is on it’s way out, I’m just not sure if I should get a launch offer or wait around for black Friday, for the 9 contracts were cheaper over the term then than launch.

I think I will be unless I can get a 9 Pro XL at a good deal

I’m going to eye the fold as well, I do have the pixel 6a battery recall so I can get $100 cash or $150 credit but some reports online saying it’s not credit but a promo code and won’t always stack with other promos so I’m a bit worried about it not working and being stuck with the code, we’ll see I guess.

Pixel 10 is on sale now - https://store.google.com/collection/offers?from=swb&hl=en-GB

Pretty decent deals if you’re okay with ID mobile, pixel 10 128gb on carphone warehouse.

100GB with rollover for £758 over the term including the price increase.

£758 - £200 trade-in boost - £40 topcashback - £100 Currys giftcard -value of SIM to you ( I’m paying £10 on smarty so £240 for me)

So for me £278 with £100 giftcard (minus anything your phone is worth on top of the base £200) check your phone value here, it can’t be zero for the extra £200 to apply https://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobiles/trade-in

25GB is just £5 less and £500GB is an extra £20 across the term in total roughly.

I think that’s pretty great if you’re due a new phone.

And you can get google buds pro 2 for an extra £50 across the contract term.

I’m kinda tempted to order but I just feel likes it due to the idea of “something new and shiny” versus an actual need for a new phone. Still got the Pixel 9 Pro and it works fine - battery annoying but fine.

Still have the Pixel Watch 2 to keep up my step count so don’t think I’ll need to upgrade that at any time soon.

I miss the days of absolutely wild innovation on a new phone release…

They do feel very incremental upgrades these days (all phones that is), not really much to upgrade from the 9 Pro for.

My phone’s 3 years old now so I’ll take a look at cost after stacking trade in with other offers. Might be tempted. But actually even with a 3 year old phone I don’t really feel the need to upgrade. I feel I could go 5 years with it.

I’d be interested in a new Fitbit if Google ever decides to release a new model.

I was a bit disappointed by the updates compared to last year. Think I’ll stick with my P9P for another year.
