Still no DPD action.
Sounds like a good night out
Be patient.
Mine is on the move .
Does anyone have any experience migrating an eSIM (specifically EE) to a new phone?
When I first moved to eSIM I played about with it and accidentally deleted it. Trying to explain to Online Support that they couldn’t text me because I didn’t have a SIM card was a huge ball-ache and took hours to sort.
You should just be able to go to the app and replace eSIM and get a new QR code or download it directly on the new device.
I tried to move my EE eSIM over and it failed, the old eSIM was still active which shouldn’t happen either. In the end I deleted the new eSIM as the advice of deleting my old eSIM sounded like I was about to be left with no service.
I’m with Vodafone and when you transfer the esim, you have to delete it first but then I get an email with a passworded QR code to register it on any new phone I wish.
Tried it again and it activated and cancelled my old eSIM.
Ah man, I’m just getting ‘Download isn’t working. Our bad. Try again’.
I haven’t been told to delete my eSIM on my old phone and I’d rather not because then I’ll be left without a signal.
Stick to regular SIM cards people, this is garbage.
Apologies if you have already given this a go, But I usually do it the following way and never had issue.
On existing device,
Open EE App
Manage
Mobile & Sim
Scroll down select Check Settings
Scroll down select replace my sim/esim
select number
select esim
another device
download
then just scan the QR code on new device
then go back to settings and select activate sim/esim and itll send code to existing device and then should work on new device.
Thanks but nothing seems to be working. I’ll visit an EE Store today and get a physical SIM, because I’m also never gonna get a response from online chat.
I tried it and it messed up. Had to go get a physical one in the end. I just don’t think they are super smooth running for everyone yet.
I’ve been using an eSim since I got my Pixel 8 Pro in October. Never had a problem, including when I had to migrate to another phone after a replacement via insurance.
I’ve been using an esim for several years now, there is a knack to the process of transferring them and you do have to delete them off the old device but I’ve found them quite easy to setup/transfer.
I’ve only ever deleted the old eSIM when it has stopped working on the old device.
The fingerprint sensor on the Px8Pro is rapid. As is the face recognition. Massively impressed with it/them.
does it work in the dark yet or is it still optical?
Still optical. Won’t work in the dark, but it still works in very low-light conditions.
Surprised they haven’t upped their game there given how well Face ID has worked for all these years. I guess it will also be considered less trustworthy over finger print as well.
As good as FaceId is, it does mean you have to sacrifice some of the screen for all the sensors and the ultrasonic fingerprint sensors are pretty good.
Phone is fabulous now that I’ve got a physical SIM slotted in, and I’ll be keeping it that way.
‘AI’ stuff is an amusing novelty, but otherwise it’s just a solid, pretty phone.
