I’ll be interested in watching that.
While I’ve no pressing plans to upgrade from the Pxl5, an aging Samsung S8 is becoming problematic for one of the kids, so I can see a possible family phone reshuffle - and a shiny new Pixel for me. But I’m waiting to see how it does rather than jump in from the start this year. Unless the S8 dies that is.
One thing that has grabbed me so far - unlike any other year where a ‘bigger size’ was available - it seems the 6 is far better value than the 6 Pro.
My driver is 30 mins away.
The pre-auth has also dropped off my credit card and no charge, but I expect it’ll appear soon.
I’m upgrading from the S8 as mine is getting problematic.
If you have no pressing plans it might be worth waiting for the Pixel 7 or see what 2022 brings.
Start of next year we should see the second generation with Arm v9 which brings Cortex-X2 and the Cortex-A710 into play.
Should see the upcoming Dimensity 2000 absolutely blow the current generation away from performance and efficiency.
I’ve got that one ( for the 6), not opened the box yet though.
Phone is arriving between 2 and 3 for me.

Agreed. I have a Pro coming in a month which I’ll probably cancel. Just can’t see it being worth the extra £250 over the regular 6.

Anyone had issues adding a Monzo card to Google pay , initiated from the pay app ?
It says open app, a Monzo notification comes up but when clicking on it or opening the app nothing happens, I had to remove it from the pay app and then initiate add to Google pay from inside the Monzo app and then it added fine.
You can’t fall back to SMS verification which is annoying.
It worked for me. Clicking the notification opened the app and asked me to add the card, which it did.

Benchmarks look a bit weaker than I thought.
Interesting Google went with the A76 (2018) instead of the modern A78 (2020-2021) for it’s mid range.
2x X1 it should be way more powerful
Strange, I tried it again but it still wouldn’t work.

I don’t really like the size, I’ll get used to it but it’s a drop too big coming from the 5.
Underscreen fingerprint sensor isn’t as fast as the rear ones on previous models but it’s consistent , I’m also missing the swipe down on the sensor to bring down the notification bar, especially now that the phone is taller.
Battery seems great but not had it for too long obviously.
Something else to note ,the 6 doesn’t have mm wave 5G, which is a slight ding on future proof, there are some carrier specific models with it in the US for extra $ , unsure if any UK carriers have.
