Google Pay, unable to add newly received card

I received a new monzo personal card today, I’ve had one for a reasonable time and always used it as the default google pay card, I cannot, now, add this new card to my google wallet either adding to the wallet OR adding gpay from the monzo app.
This is very disappointing, the card is effectively useless to me as I just don’t ever carry cards any more, so in replacing my card you are going to lose my custom.
When google requests verification and I select via the app the app opens and nothing happens. Of course you won’t support this over the phone, which is reasonably pathetic.
Shall I open the business account I was about to set up with you ? . . . not until this works.

So dramatic.

Ask monzo to remove the Google Pay tokens.

Check pay.google.com and remove the old monzo card details.

Delete the app, restart your device and then reinstall the app.

So patronising and ignorant.
All card details removed from both apps multiple times.
Where in any written instructions are Google Pay Tokens mentioned ?
If this sh*t worked I wouldn’t be wasting my time on here.

You have to ask monzo to remove them as it’s only them that can see and remove them.
