If you’re a Sky customer nearing the end of your contract, try ringing them. I managed to get Sky Sports at £12 for 18 months
Really! That’s a bargain. I’m currently paying £26, to which they said I could get down to £20 if I re-sign for 18 months I’ve left it rolling at the higher price for now to explore other options but maybe I need to try again.
I’ve done even worse. I’m on sky stream and they’d only offer me £22/mo for 18 months or £27/mo rolling contract
Or F1TV via control id dns, seems to be working well at the moment
I stopped watching at I think season 4 when I read reviews saying it was pretty terrible and there was a lot of audio splicing, one example being George saying something comprised of 3 different soundbites combined into one sentence. Don’t know if it was actually as bad as the reviews suggested but I haven’t watched any since then.
If you only want F1, you can activate the F1 subscription via Sky Q (visit F1 channel, press red button to activate channel, enter pin to confirm pricing), the F1 subscription is £15 a month rolling contract.
That’s identical to the offer for last year too, which is great when you only need the channel for around 9 months before a 3 month break.
Annoyingly, this only seems to be on Sky Q and not Sky Stream. I’ve had to sign up for the full Sky Sports package at £20/month in contract. SSF1 is the only channel I use
Finally got an offer for 12 months @ £21. Probably the best they’re going to offer me, so I’ve taken it.
Intensely annoying that they don’t just offer an F1-only deal for a reasonable price. I have zero interest in the thousands of hours of other sport I’m now paying to watch.
What about the previously posted message about £15/month for F1 only? I’m planning to give Sky a call tomorrow to try and get that deal.
As the message below it says, this is on Sky Q and not Sky Stream. If you are on Sky Q you can get it without calling - just use the instructions above, if you are on Sky Stream you can’t at the moment.
I don’t have Sky TV - I watch F1 via Now, which as far as I can work out is the cheapest (legal) way to watch F1.
Even if they did offer a single-channel subscription I doubt they’d make it available for much less than £21/month. Subscribing at this price for 9 months even if all you watch is F1 race weekends the effective cost per race weekend is £7.88. That doesn’t seem such a bad price to me, especially considering they charge £11 for a day pass.
What annoys me with Now TV though is the need to pay extra to get 1080p streams and simultaneous device streaming.
Oh yeah don’t get me started on that.
I don’t think I can do it without calling
I currently have Sky Sports on a rolling contract at £26. I would have to cancel it first which you can only do on the phone, so may as well cancel and sign up to the channel only offer whilst on the phone. Assuming they offer me it!
So Horner has been cleared which isn’t what I was expecting.
Given how extensive the investigation was something must have happened but seemingly not enough for him to have to go.
Business as usual then I guess!
I am ver¥ curiou$ as to how this was conclud€d so quick£y.
Bear in mind, and giving Horner the benefit of the doubt (which if you know me is saying something because I do not like Horner or Red Bull), that ‘something’ could well have been “Red Bull [the sponsor] wanted to try and force Horner out and get their own man in control of Red Bull [the team]”.
If anyone is able to wriggle out of an allegation, it’s Horner. He’s always been much better at manipulating the FIA etc
I’ve let mine accidentally renew. How does control dns work? How much does it cost? I just tried their free one and it didn’t work.
