The issue with that is regardless what account you are in it is still to/from joint. So can be confusing as you expect to transfer from the account you are in to another account.
We have been using the JA for a few weeks now and i think most my feedback has been said previously but I’ve not seen the below mentioned.
More obvious indication of which account you are in - currently it’s just the top bar but I guess this will be changed to summary. Maybe a different colour from what we see in the individual accounts.
Breakdown of each persons spend in categories - in summary the spending gives you a break down of shopping etc, it would be useful to be able to see who spent what on shopping. If we could have this break down we can see who needs to cut down on spending what if we need to cut back. One problem with this though is would there need to be something implemented along side this to tag things as joint spending such as drinks out together?
Moving money between accounts should have the same splash page and icons as when moving between pots
We received my joint account cards yesterday and I was a bit surprised by the whole experience. I couldn’t find where to get started and how to switch between accounts so I had to ask the CS team to find it out. Here is a couple of key points I saw so far:
Switching accounts is really weirdly positioned and impossible to find on your own.
When you’re on your joint account, there is nothing that tells you that you’re on it.
It’s still written Current Account even if you’re on your Joint Account.
Settings button is located on an account level even if you have settings that are global to the app. The hierarchy is confusing.
When you click on your name you can see your profile but you only have the details of the account you selected, not all your details. Again, this is a hierarchy problem. Account is global so you should be able to see everything related to you including both of your account details
I don’t feel that the white background in Home is enough to tell me on which account I am.
Payments has my recent payees from my personal account and a list of all my personal Monzo friends. That’s very confusing. On this page you really don’t know where you are.
That’s it for now. I love the concept and I have no doubt that it will get better very soon.
I think that a number of people don’t understand that it is a test release rather than the final item. I guess that’s the nature of things at the moment but the expectation seems to be that we’re going to get a fully polished item when that quite clearly isn’t what’s on offer yet.
Sorry, I wasn’t directing any of that at you personally, it was a commentary on my thoughts on the reasons behind the ‘lots of recurring themes’ phrase you used.
Come along to our event on Thursday and be one of the first
And we’ll make it clear that what you’re getting is still very much an early version of joint account. There’s things we think the full joint account experience should include (such as the new card design) that simply aren’t in place yet.
