Feedback: Joint Account testing

Initial feedback - I signed up from within the app, it wasn’t particularly obvious to find :eyes: but did have a feed item to use, so that was good :+1: Went through the sign-up process, all very easy, and got confirmation that cards will be sent out shortly. Now though I have no way to be able to see the status of the new account, is it pending, has it happened… :checkered_flag:  I don’t know. I am guessing I will get a feed notification once all setup? Would be nice to have a way to check the status easily, I seem to remember I had the same thing when using CASS.

Wil give more feedback once I have a working account and card :credit_card:

:monzo: are looking at making it a better experience.

Swear I saw the suggestion posted before but I’d also really really like to see everything in one feed, with little overlays on the icons maybe. Filters if you want see transactions from either account.

Feels really legacy ‘switching’ between accounts to manage my cash and see what’s going on.

I’ve just tried moving money from my solo account to my joint account, it asks me to scan my finger print, spins its circle and then nothing seems to happen, the money remains in my solo account. Is this currently the expected behaviour? I’ve not yet activate my card of that helps?

I don’t think the account is active until you activate the card

My card isn’t activated and this is what I get when I try to transfer

I guess that makes sense. I guess my feedback so far would be letting us know the account isn’t active until the card is activated?

That and not prompting to load ApplePay. I got all excited thinking I could use my card straight away like Starling but it just fails to load as there’s no active card

100% agree with this! Joint pots are essential for us.

That’s strange, I was able to transfer into the joint account (from Nationwide) as soon as it was set up, before the card arrived.

Hmmm I assumed i couldn’t until I got my card. That is odd then!

Edit - I’m trying monzo-monzo transfer which might be why it’s not working…

I did a Monzo-Monzo transfer. It came up with an error but the transaction had gone through.

Added the card to Apple Pay and the card has the ‘JOINT ACCOUNT’ bit on it, so I can differentiate it from my personal card.

I wonder if the Joint account cards will also have Investor on if you’re an investor?

Joint accounts are here … well I was offered to try one. I get as far as the who do you want to share your account with - and it stops. I cant go any further? There is nothing on the screen to add anyone or go any further. Using an iphone xJA

This area normally shows all of the contacts on your phone that have a Monzo account registered to a number you have for them. Do you have anyone on your phone that has one?

Hey @anon75521982, sorry you ran into this issue while trying to create a joint account, we have just fixed this issue this morning, and will be released in the next week or so.

To fix the issue now, you need to ensure you have ‘Payments with friends’ enabled, which can be found on the Account tab, under the settings menu for your card. We also require access to the contacts on your phone to match them up with Monzo users. This can be enabled on the Payments tab

Hope this helps you fix the problem, let me know if not.

I’ve noticed if you remove your card from apple wallet then re add it, it now says joint account on the card! This includes apple watch too!

Hi @joshbrucemonzo - That worked. I had to reset my privicy settings on my phone a few days back, so Monzo didn’t have access to my contacts - I have now allowed that and now have linked to my wifes Monzo and the joint account is being created. Thanks
