Favourite Phone?

Out of all of the Phones you have had which is your favourite?

Mine is my old Samsung Note 9 which I used for many years.

The Pixel 2 XL stands out for me - really the only time I wasn’t an iPhone user.

Man this is tough one, it’ll depend on the era.

Possibly, if I could only choose one, my BlackBerry Bold 9900. Man I loved that phone. Would still use it except obviously you can’t really.

Honerable mentions:

  • Motorola Milestone. Amazing phone ahead of its time with biometrics and also a super nice keyboard
  • HTC touch one, nothing will ever beat the sliding down of the keyboard

Then after a few Samsungs I went to the dark side

  • IPhone 8 one of the best phones I ever had, so reliable
  • iPhone 11 Pro, still regret trading this in really.
  • 14/15 pro max if for no other reason than the camera. Absolutely outstanding

Era dependent. Stand-outs:

Sony Ericcson T28 World, StarTAC original, RAZR original (still have it!), Nokia N95, iPhone 3G, Nexus 1, Nexus 5, Pixel 2XL (still in daily use by MrsW), Pixel 8 Pro (current powerhouse)

Overall by category:

Travel: T28 World
Looks: RAZR
Value: Pixel 2XL

Got a chance to get an iPhone 3G on O2 the day before the UK launch (March 2008?) so jumped. Form factor was amazing but no SMS at the time and a primarily HTML- based experience. Simple. It worked but was basic and although jailbreaking made it better, it was still not for me. As soon as the TMobile G1 came out, bye bye iPhone.

Then Google launched Nexus. Game-changed.

Strangely, that was very similar to my experience. Went to upgrade my blackberry - looked at the new iPhone3G, decided that I much preferred the G1 and went with that. Sadly, because of the village I lived in not supporting Tmobile, it was very short lived and become a Motorola Milestone very soon after…

These topics seem to come around periodically.

Still the SPV C500 for me.

Nokia 6310i was my favourite phone as at the time I could use it via a Psion Gold Card Modem for my then laptop and I also had a fitted Nokia carkit for it which at the time was pretty Groundbreaking :sunglasses:

Also had epic battery life
