Falcon Heavy

Is anyone else going to be watching the launch today? http://www.spacex.com/webcast

The more I think about its potential for the space industry and opening up ‘affordable’ payload transit, the more excited I get about where it could lead.

But even if it blows up, SpaceX will make it a damn good show

Absolutely! I can’t wait.

I’m really eager to see how landing multiple first stage rockets is handled, and it’ll be interesting to see how the rocket performs during launch given the increased size.

I hope it doesn’t blow up. :crossed_fingers:

Yeah they could make a mockery of the NASA programme to put similar payload I. For $1bn per trip when SpaceX May be able to do it for $200m :scream:

What happened to 6:30? :man_shrugging:t2:

Haha just checked your earlier post to see if I got the time right. And you had changed it :joy:

It seems even Elon Musk can’t control the weather!

I hadn’t seen any announcements. So does it look like it will be moved to tomorrow?

It’s still going ahead:

And the ‘webcast’ has just started more than a static image. http://www.spacex.com/webcast

If you’re waiting till tomorrow, you’ve missed it.

Absolutely stunning achievement. Even if it all goes wrong from now, to do what they’ve done is spectacular.

That was just amazing! Though no news on the drone ship landing?

Amazing watching the 2 side boosters touchdown next to each other. Centre booster is a goner I fear else they’d have said by now surely?

Still a stunning achievement.

Noooooooo, poor centre core

Those landing were just poetry in motion

I watched that back more times than I care to admit. Still don’t think I can pick my jaw up off the floor.

The centre core didn’t have enough propellant to slow itself. So missed the pad :frowning:️ Would still class the launch :rocket: as really successful.
