The used to be a button on failed Direct Debits to “Pay Now” - has this been taken away for everybody or is it simply not working for me..
It was a very useful feature.
I would appreciate if it could be put back - so is a DD fails I dont have to wait till 2pm to ensure it is paid.
Not sure about the button @PatK1000. However, you should have at least one working day warning of Direct Debits being taken from your account, as Monzo displays pending DDs in your feed.
Obviously if you don’t have the funds, that doesn’t help, but if you do you should have time to move funds to your account from pots or other UK bank accounts.
Edit - if it’s a Continuous Payment Authority on a card then of course you don’t get the warning, but also it wouldn’t be possible to add a “pay now” button to these because of the way they work.
I also don’t recall this button. But the clue there is “failed” - when a D/D payment fails, you can add funds on the same day (morning preferred) and Monzo will then attempt to pay it again in the afternoon and if the funds are there when a retry occurs - job done.
There was a button previously having had to use it before, a nice blue button which made the payment straight away.
I did have a direct debit fail recently - I forgot to transfer. I’m sure though there was the option once funds were in place to request payment made. It did look different than I recall previously.
Didn’t feel it had more Friction though.
