Surely being hit by a lorry because you wandered out into the street whilst looking at your phone is just a form of natural selection, isn’t it?

For the pedestrian, or the driver? Mull that over.
This is as much protection for the driver who may end up inadvertently killing someone from no fault of their own, as it is the moron walking around glued to their phone.
It was mentioned on the BBC a few years ago too.
I remember having to guide my ex-girlfriend, when I was younger, around Manchester city centre many a time due to her looking at her phone all the time. Alas, now you know why she is my ex…
It would be interesting what the conclusion of the trial was.
