Does anybody ever do a search before asking a question?

It can’t be about being in your 50s, I’m in my 50s and I find Monzo incredibly intuitive. Just play with it! (or hand your smartphone in and get a grandkid to do it for you  )

They are aiming to build a bank for people who live their lives on their smartphones - supercomputers that live in most people’s pockets. So age irrespective, maybe Monzo is not the right choice for people who find computers unintuitive?

I hope that doesn’t sound unwelcoming - just trying to point out that Monzo is not aiming to be everything for everyone - they are targeting a specific market and catering outside of that would damage their focus.

To draw an analogy it is like asking why Harrod’s don’t sell ‘value’ baked beans when plenty of people like to buy value beans. They are focussing on wealthy people like Monzo is focussing on tech savvy people.

I appreciate this is just an innocent ‘can you make a guide’ suggestion but the app is so beautifully simple to use and there is very little about it that could be confusing to smartphone users. Making a guide would really lower the bar for such an intuitive product.

Many people won’t play around with a user interface for the fear of doing something unexpected or breaking something. Watching a nearly 2 year old play with a :iphone: they do it in an inquisitive way and don’t really care about breaking things or messing them up. This is the opposite end of the spectrum.

Guides with photos are costly to maintain, so a balance needs to be struck, and trying to make the user interface as easy to use as possible is the best way, with links to the help system for specific questions or detail.

The other argument to this is that Monzo would be alienating a certain subset of people, that might actually benefit from the product.
Maybe Monzo isn’t all things to all people, but those who don’t find computers intuative arguably struggle more with modern banking (setting up the online account, the fiddly card and pin machine, why have I been logged out?)! Why shouldn’t they be part of the bank of the future?

Does your legacy bank provide this?

The Monzo App is not difficult to navigate or understand. If step-by-step screenshots of how to do stuff is required then they’ve probably designed it wrong.

Ok, what specifically do you require help with?

do you mean a bit like a blog post to walk you through a feature ?

or just ask on the community if you’re stuck and you will usually get an answer within a couple of minutes
