I’m trying to manually sort out my direct debits but I keep getting a page suggesting I set it up as a transfer first then set it as a repeat payment…is this how I’m supposed to do it?
Sorry if it seems daft I don’t know.
Direct Debits are set up by the company taking them - you give the company your bank details, and they tell the bank about the direct debit.
Standing orders are controlled by you, and are setup in the app.
If you are trying to change direct debits, you can normally do it via the company’s website - although for some you may have to phone up, or contact them in the normal way.
I was worried I was doing it wrong.
