It’s inevitable, but still pales in comparison to other viruses. Imagine if we got daily updates with the transmission of flu or the cold?!

I think there are two lines of thought:

If we were able to stop the flu before it spread globally, wouldn’t that have been worth the bother?

10x, really? Isn’t the death rate right now something very very low?
I’m no expert, so I’ll certainly concede where you know more, but I’d be interested in those facts.
Low compared to Spanish flu. Not low compared to other comparable diseases, though:
“ Globally, about 3.4% of reported COVID-19 cases have died . By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1% of those infected.”

Fair.
It’s still incredibly low, and a lot of those deaths are in China and I’ll bet there are some issues with access to healthcare that we won’t face in the UK.
I still think this is being overblown by the media. It’s a virus affecting a small number of people, growing at a rate that appears high but in reality the numbers are really small still. 25 people in London? That’s 0.003% of the city.
For now. The long incubation period means they will have infected others long before they felt ill
Well yes, maybe for now.
But now, it’s not that bad. Now it’s not quite the time to be rushing out panic buying supplies like we are going to war. Normal precautions that frankly should be encouraged anyway, such as washing hands and containment of any coughs and sneezes, will suffice now.
I don’t like “what ifs” generally because humans look for the worst scenario. Let’s stick with what’s happening now, which is a relatively small number of people have a virus that’s not shockingly spread in the international globe we live in, a very small number of those have died of which all have had pre-existing conditions.
In reality, none of us are likely to get it right now, and even if we did we are very very unlikely to die from it.

The key word here is “reported”. The death rate is much lower than that in reality. It also will depend massively on the health care infrastructure of each country.

Yes it was explained very well by the CMO in the Palimentary Committee this morning.
WHO is basing the percentage on those who are known to have the virus ie have shown symptoms. However they know from tests that there are a lot more people who will be infected but have no or very moderate symptoms and ever get reported.
He said they were very confident the fatality rate was a maximum of 1% overall and may be less.
Still adds up if a lot are infected and the key figure they are trying to determine is what that likely figure will be (80% is the maximum any virus like this has infected, they expect it to be lower but don’t know how low).

I’ve ordered my coronavirus kit , and Alex Jones has announced a spray to stop 5g radiation so I’m gonna order that, takes a few weeks to come from the US though.

My favorite conspiracy so far was when on Russian state news, they stated that Trump was behind the coronavirus, because corona in Russian translates to crown, and Trump used to hand out crowns at beauty pageants

The government wants to kill public sector workers, because the pensions are really expensive.

They will force those workers to have vaccinations. These vaccinations will be deadly (and will contain aluminium nano particles).

The Coronavirus conspiracy provides the government with the perfect excuse.

For the rest of the population, many will be persuaded to have the vaccination by the fear and panic caused by fear of the virus.

Those who survive the vaccination will have aluminium nano particles (which are in the vaccination) in their bloodstream. These nano particles gather in the brain, and will allow mind control by the use of targeted 5G kill grids.
It’s only when some genius points all this out that it becomes blindingly obvious!
