COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

Ah this made me chuckle

Oh dear.
“Get your booster so as not to overwhelm the NHS”

Surely they could see this happening given the pressure they’ve put on people to go and get their boosters.

This is what happens when the Prime Minister announces an ambitious booster target without consultation with health service providers.

One might assume that he’s only interested in public policy if it helps him with his political career…

This is where you need to look.

Lol… on that site the nearest one is 9 miles away. Ain’t nobody walking that far…

Or just his popularity.
Very poorly thought out however good his intentions were.

Even Peppa has had enough :joy: :joy: :joy: :joy:

It’s not that bad really…. It’s good that people want their boosters, and it’s good that it’s making headlines about the vaccine. They’ll soon catch up with vaccine demand.

Bugger. Between yesterday and this morning, when I double-checked the website again before leaving:

In view of the government changes, we are currently unable to accept walk-ins

No booster for me today

Suspect what has happened here is that in order to meet Johnson’s EOTY target, it has now been turned into a site for all the local GPs to book their priority patients in to. Bah.

ETA: upon further research, it appears to problem is everyone in the NHS found out about Boris’s jab plan at the same time as the general public. Rather than the more sensible way of making any plans before announcing them. So everyone’s scrambling to try and figure out how to make it work, which being distracted by the general public who are all “But Boris said…!” about it. I feel really sorry for everyone on the ground, at really cross at Boris who seems to never learn you can’t just say something and make it be true.

Clever writing…

The recent behaviour suggests to me that our PM is approaching the situation with all the planning, thoughtfulness and regard for protocol normally associated with a jolly Eltonesque jape. Unusually my GP practice is now using exclamation marks in their updates. A sure sign of being peeved! R-

Hearsay, but I’ve been told that using an Incognito/In-Private can help avoid some crashes. Not any of the server-side ones, granted, but if there’s any funny business happening with cookies that’s probably where it can help.

But. From tomorrow they’re saying a whole new set of people will allowed to go and book online. If the site is falling over that easy now, I don’t rate anyone’s chances tomorrow.

Sunday Jabday! Didn’t think I’d get one that quickly. Next available was Jan.

I booked mine 3rd Dec for 22nd Dec.

That’s Christmas ruined :joy:

All booked for Thursday. My GP has their own separate booking system and whilst Thursday was fully booked, it seems people are cancelling their slots so a few refreshes and a slot became available.

I wonder how advisable it is to have the jab then immediately go to a work Christmas do…
No risk, no fun?

Just got mine - all went pretty smoothly, nice to see the Army out in force giving the boosters. :relaxed:

Did see reports in the papers that today was as bad as yesterday, but judging by your later post, it looks like things may have improved :+1:

Shouldn’t do but depends on future mutations

Original plan was yearly
