But where does Monzo get this cash from? I’m assuming they don’t keep it on hand like a branch. And even if they do, who takes the risk in posting?
Granted, they could permit one ATM withdrawal, but I’m assuming they have reasons why they don’t.

its 200£ which could be wothdrawed from an atm without an issue and they could get rid of me quicker but they wont give me a reaosn why they wont let me do that so my only option is to get a different account
They would record that they have given him the money and that would be the end of it surely? It would be no different if they transferred it to another bank account for him. They wouldn’t track that after the fact. It’s nothing to do with them.
hmmm the difference being anybody with his card , which he has history of letting other people use could rock up at the ATM and withdraw the money …maybe … , once you have gone down the route of not caring about your bank accounts and who uses them the Bank cant be seen to possibly be aiding fraud , which then needs a paper trail to show the bank acted with correct procedures, if that causes problems for the account holder that is the account holders problem …sorry its a choice they have made.
The OP showed a screen video of a £95 balance which were all of their transactions " I have done nothing wrong" - which then later was a £175 balance needed returning, and now its £200
im contacting them, i can provide face identification to show its me holding my card so i really dont see a reason why. but i guess all banks have rules and they cant break them unfortunately.
monzo isnt to blame partially understand why they have said no to my request. but i would like to see atleast someone trying to help my situation by atleast trying to find an alternate way of retrieving my money
and we have throughout this thread … for some reason they aren’t acceptable to you
Do you have a social worker or a responsible adult? If you’re under 18 and your parents aren’t around, you should have one…
no one knows of my cifas marker or my accounts anywhere and i want it to stay that way.
the only other thing that comes to my mind is seeking out some form of prepaid card - there’s this huge list of Mastercard prepaid card providers - it may help?
https://www.mastercard.co.uk/en-gb/consumers/find-card-products/prepaid-cards/card.html
Doesn’t help with the immediate issue of transferring the money but it might give you a way to access a card before you turn 18?
You will really struggle to find any other option though until you’re 18. Even if you get the money out of Monzo, won’t you need an account somewhere for wages/spending etc?
Im getting more and more lost in this thread with everybody trying to help you , you dont appear to be being consistent with the facts
post 1 - "I have attached a screen recording of everything that’s gone in and out of my account " £97 balance
post 57 - “i know this may sound like a joke to you but its 175£ it might not be a lot for you but its pretty much all i have.”
post 184 “its 200£”
This may be a stupid idea, but maybe ask a local homeless charity. I suspect they will have experience with people unable to open bank accounts due to not having a permanent address and may be willing to help you if you provide them with written materials from Monzo.
For example, they may have an account that they use to allow people to be paid their benefits and may be willing to write you a cheque (I doubt they’d give you the cash) but then you could take the cheque to one of the places mentioned above.
At the very least, they will be non-judgmental about making a mistake in your past and will have plenty of experience of young people who do not have a trusted adult around.
Yes bit strange you’ve said you have £175, then £200 trapped in your account and then attached the video, showing your entire lifecycle of account transactions where the balance is clearly £97.44 (none in Pots or anything)…
i had a refund coming from amazon to my account whiich made the 97.44 roughly 175 and the 4 payments to the hosting company which werent meant to go out are coming back so its give or take 5£ from 200£ hope that clears everything up
Fair enough. Hopefully those refunds can actually be processed if the accounts been closed!
the amazon refund has come through successfully so i hope the rest can too
I did an internet search
Optimum prepaid MasterCard
Anyone over the age of 13
Go Henry a small monthly fee
Check them out
Good luck
Check them out my friend, Go Henry seems a good option
Can they return the money to source and get it another way?
Amazon transaction will likely just end up as credit on your account.
