Monzo now have a team working on cheque imaging support for the app, but unless they are going to surprise us with the gift of a sudden Christmas Day launch (unlikely, although they do seem close), you won’t be able to pay a cheque in with your phone using Monzo this year. However, most other banks now offer this feature, so I have compiled the list below with credit to crowdsourced updates from here and FintechForum, in case anybody stumbles across this thread after receiving a cheque as a gift.

If you’ve received a cheque for Christmas, then the following information might be useful:

Banks supporting cheque imaging in-app include:

£10,000 limit per cheque

£5,000 limit per cheque

£2000 limit per cheque
:white_check_mark: HSBC
:white_check_mark: First Direct

£1,000 limit per cheque
:white_check_mark: Barclays
:white_check_mark: NatWest, RBS, Ulster Bank, NatWest International & Isle of Man Bank

£500 limit per cheque
