Charity or business account?

Hey there,

I am looking to set up an account for a small charity that has just started receiving donations and making money.

Can I just set up a normal business account with Monzo? Or will I need to go elsewhere for a specific charity account?

According to the website https://monzo.com/i/business/eligibility a charity is not an eligible business.

Business types we can’t support right now

  • Charities

We might offer accounts to these business types in future but it’s not in our plans at the moment. That’s because we have to gather and store different information on these customers, and there are different rules around how these types of accounts need to be operated.
