Cashback is coming to more customers 🚀

I get the security prompt whenever I tap into my connected HSBC credit card. It’s showing transactions over three months old (back to May 2023) without pressing ‘see all’.

I’ve just started getting this on my connected amex card :hushed:

Happy 7th forumversary! :cake: :tada:

The 1.26 withdrawal is 9th of August, so over 3 months ago, is that what you mean?

Yeah thank you! This is a known issue (as of this week) and we are working on changing our logic to prevent this, sorry for the annoyance!

Not sure if this helps or hinders: I’ve just checked mine and the initially displayed entries (2 cashback earns and a withdrawal) are all within the last 8 days:

I still get the occasional biometric check when tapping on Cashback from the Home feed

Has anyone experienced not getting LEON cash back? I just used it in store and the transaction was not marked for cashback. I have raised it within the app but not sure if this was just me. Thanks.

I’ve had the same with Footlocker.
My LNER cashback tracked instantly. But my Footlocker hasn’t.
I’ve raised it in the app, so I’ll see what they say. I’ve a feeling it’s because it’s showing as “Freedom Sportsline ltd” at the bottom of the transaction. Definitely ordered through Footlocker though, and it says footlocker at the top of the transaction.

Can see this is gonna have a learning curve lol. I was really excited to have Gousto on my offers as I pay for them every week anyway. Then when it went out today was when I remembered it’s set up through paypal… now realising that many things are (have it that way so I don’t have to update loads of accounts every time my card expires). Doh. Will have to re-assess with next month’s offers

Is paypal not being included for practical reasons (i.e. even though Monzo knows it’s gousto, the cashback doesn’t know)?

Or is it a choice because paying direct with the card is better for Monzo?

Either way it’s fair enough (though having PayPal work would be incredibly handy, especially since the offers are short term so it could require changing payment methods a lot), I’m just curious.

Paying via PayPal is not paying direct to a business. It’s a middle man like Curve is. So it doesn’t count for Cashback.

Monzo want you to bank with them. So they want you to not have to change payment methods a lot.

Total waste of a single use, forgot it was active.

And yet some people still think auto activated offers is the way to go :rofl:

Auto activate it fine, but single use is not.

Buyer beware… And I say that as someone who has done this before :man_facepalming:

I do bank with them - been full Monzo for years! What I mean is I use PayPal so that when my card expires every couple of years, I don’t have to update the details with 15+ different services individually. I only have to do it with PayPal once and then set all those services to use that new card, via one quick session on PayPal.

I also use it so there is only one chance for a company’s data breach to release my card details, not 15 lol.

As I said, whilst it’d be very handy it’s fair enough that PayPal doesn’t count, I was just curious if it was a business decision to not because it’s somehow better for either them or the shops for people to not use PayPal (perhaps PayPal fees are more than MasterCard for example) or if it’s purely a technical limitation of implementing the cashback.

The Cashback offer appeared on my app yesterday morning. Had a look and only the Asda offer was something I might actually use. I am going to check out the items (single malt whisky & decent gin) I wish to buy at other retailers to see if the 5% return is worthwhile. To date I have always found the Tesco Clubcard offers are so much better than anything else available & coupled with the Chase 1% cash back, rather tasty.

Asda is one time use…

Ended up buying 2x £100 gift cards to max it out.

If Asda is a one time use then that is all that will be happening. There is nothing else to entice me. Obviously I will check in from time to time, just in case.
