I have heard great things about a Monzo card /app and wanted my 17 year old daughter to get one for travelling to Singapore and Malaysia but looks like she could not apply as she was under 18. Any suggestions? Can she get anything?

Unfortunately not from Monzo, you have to be 18+ to open their current account.
For people under 18 I’m not sure what to suggest as a travel card. Hopefully others users will have some good suggestions 
Monzo is 18+ only unfortunately. Nationwide FlexOne may be a good alternative for low fees international transactions

Dare I say it, but you could get the card and let her use it.

Monzo is not a travel card, you would be better off looking at one of those instead of a bank account.

In addition, once past the first £200 of cash withdrawals in any 30 day period there will be a 3% charge for further withdrawals. It all depends on how it will be used as to what’s going to be worth doing.
Fundamentally, I don’t believe a UK Current Account really answers your problem as @anon72173902 said.

Accounts for 16-17 year olds are in the works! Hopefully we’ll be ready to offer these in the next few months. Depends when your daughter is leaving, but definitely worth keeping an eye on the forum - we’ll post updates as soon as we have them.
