Business Acount Fraud

I got hit today by a scammer pretending to be from the Monzo Business Fraud Team. I did not know that Monzo never calls you. This seems very similar to the scam discussed in this thread: 'Monzo Business Fraud Team' phone call SCAM**. The scam was sophisticated - I’m an IT professional and I am relatively savvy to the way scams work and get you. Fortunately, no money has been taken from my account (yet), and Monzo have blocked my account after I started a chat with them.
I am concerned that when I unblock my account and activate my new card, delayed payments might go through. I was tricked into enabling Apple Pay, which isn’t something I use (I’m on Android). Monzo support have said that this hasn’t been enabled. I see that in the other cases this was escalated to the Fraud Team who took some time to investigate this. How do I get this escalated to them?

Chat should have done this.

As there’s no financial loss there isn’t really a great deal for them to do other than block and replace your card.

There’s no delayed payments as you’d see them in your feed, same for transfers.

There’s no Apple tokens on the new card by your post, so a lucky escape.

Thanks for your reply, that does set my mind at ease. I’ve never used Apple Pay (I only ever have android phones), but as I understand what you’re saying, it’s linked to the card, not the bank account, so replacing the card will sort this. What is an Apple token? Is it some kind of API token which gives permission or is this something else?

Basically yeah, as with Android you’d have a Google pay token. Some banks may reference it differently, it just shows the link to the payment service.

In your case, it’s likely been removed.
