The wireless ones with the base station that charges the extra battery and connects via optical to speakers, so when the headphones are off your speakers are auto set to output, i love this set up and wouldn’t change it for the world!

I think you’ll struggle to find that size OLED for under £1k. Would require retailers knocking £300 off a 55", and I’ll stick my neck out and say there’s no chance a 65" would get under.

I went out with the intention of picking up an LG C1 55” OLED from John Lewis, but what I actually got was much better.

There was only one LG left in stock and it was on display, so I got chatting to the sales rep, and they pointed me towards the Samsung S95 55” OLED. List price was £1599, so much much more than I’d budgeted for, but they tipped me off that they had a customer return available. The customer had opened the box but realised they wanted a larger model. Price was reduced to £1039 plus I get £200 cashback from Samsung.

£839 for a TV of this quality is an absolute steal! I’ve just got it set up and the picture is stunning.

I think the position @michaelw90 is in is good at the moment. Since there’s no urgency, they can pop into John Lewis every now and again to see what’s available. They might just get lucky and find a heavily discounted LG set.

Think of it as money saved. Or if you still think you need a computer but don’t want to pay more than that price, maybe stick it in a savings account and then the next time a bargain rolls around for the same computer at a better price, or a better computer at the same price, you can jump on it guilt-free?

The accountant in me definitelty sees it as money saved.

It was definitely a want and not a need. I could reasonably justfity it by replacing both the Mini and Air but they both do their jobs fine.

Happy to wait for the next deal.
