Black Friday & Cyber Monday

Currently leaning towards this one

Good brand, seems to be about the standard size and a decent amount of film.

The Instax are a similar price for just the printer and then about 75p a print.

Or maybe this and this, as I prefer the look of this printer :man_shrugging:t3:

I really need to stop looking at this discussion.

I do want one of these - the one we currently have works fine and was good for dipping our toes in the water, but we need something bigger now.

Was thinking of buying one in the Boxing Day/January sales though. I imagine we’ll just see the same offers again in that period.

Check out the Amazon trade in offer for extra discounts if your old device qualifies.

The second link of the three in your post seems to go to some zink paper that isn’t for either of the printers in the first or last link?

Oh I thought it seemed cheap!

We’re quite tempted too. We had a small donut shaped one before that was rubbish and eventually stopped working.

This seems to be the largest that Ninja do and it comes with a temperature probe which is nice too!

No dealing with crappy RCS.

Cheers - I did think about doing this, but to get the discount it looks like you have to return your old device, potentially wait up to ten days and then get the discount and order your new one?

Oh yes I see, it’s changed since I did it earlier this year. Still possibly worth it for the discount and trade in?

I’ve been adding things to camelcamelcamel to track the prices on things and hoping they get discounted nearer to Black Friday.

I still can’t get over this Black Friday concept though and how it’s become a thing.

I don’t think it has become a proper thing, really. Last year several items I tracked had better discounts on Prime day from Amazon, and the poat-Christmas/new season sales seemed to be where the real discounting of decent stuff took place.

Commercially speaking, Black Friday seems a bit mad in the sense that places are supposedly discounting their stock right before the busiest shopping period of the year. Why throw away profit like that?

Yeah you’re right, I was more referring to how it’s become this big marketing event, to the point where we have Black Friday ‘sales’ at the start of November

Latest photo related idea; digital photo frames. I was thinking about one that connects to instagram which seems to be very rare! Found one but now thinking about one that could have slightly more private/more photos on than insta.

Anyone got one that easy to update from a distance for grandparents? Don’t want to be faffing with memory cards etc. Ideally it can have an app, or one I saw has an email address you send the photos to but that one was £150+. Thinking/hoping for the £50ish range.

We have one in the family for precisely this reason. Not sure if the specific model we have is still on sale, but this is the brand:

Updating from a distance is as simple as setting up an email address where photos sent to that address are automatically added to the frame.

Or you could set up the frame and software before gifting so that you’re entirely managing it yourself (if the grandparents have zero tech savvy).

That said…

You may have see it already…

Thank you, that wasn’t actually the email one I’d seen but it was the only one I’d seen that works with instagram and they do seem to be top of all the reviews.

Sadly a bit out of budget when buying two of them :frowning:

I think you’ll struggle to find that size OLED for under £1k. Would require retailers knocking £300 off a 55", and I’ll stick my neck out and say there’s no chance a 65" would get under.

If you’re willing to be flexible, What HiFi have rated this TCL QLED as the best budget 55" of 2023. Prices at the moment are £950, so if that gets included in any Black Friday discounting it could be comfortably under budget.

Any TV l get immediately gets a streaming device rammed into it to bypass the built in TV-OS.

And not enough is said about how poor TV remotes are. Try finding your way around an LG remote in the dark! That’s another advantage of plugging in a cheap streamer.

Oops! Good catch, have fixed. I must have been having a particularly nostalgic moment for my lost youth this morning. :grimacing:

I just knew you’d have the fancy remote. I don’t. I’ve got a nasty standard remote.
