Be part of our cashback pilot šŸŽ‰

If it helps, cashback limits may be subject to change once live for all customers. But even so, I think it might be helpful to have a countdown showing how much available cashback is available in the 28 days rolling period - a bit like the other limits available in the app. Also showing how much has been earned in the same period. That way itā€™s more obvious when youā€™ll hit the limit if there continues to be one

The Monzo cashback is a trial, being funded, as far as we know, entirely by Monzo themselves, so limiting the range of retailers is fair, I think. Iā€™m not part of the trail group so donā€™t know exactly what the range of retailers is. From reading this thread it would seem fairly extensive for such a trial.

But to be clear: This is not currently being funded by a partner sign-up

The engagement of Monzo staff on this thread, particularly helping sort out difficult Merchant issues is to be applauded. To me, at least, there seems to be a very genuine willingness to engage with customers to both monitor and learn from how the trial is panning out.

Information on any wider and/or incremental growth of the trial towards it being a fully-fledged offer will be coming in a few days time - I guess weā€™ll get some indication then on just how succesful the trial has been and how the machinery to make this all work has functioned.

I guess Chase are big enough to throw money at it to help build up customer numbers

Even the Chase offer has a bag of exclusions though.

Itā€™s not 1% on everything

True but it covers most everyday spending. Which is sort of how it markets it mostly.

It depends hugely on the retailers though.

Someone (I canā€™t be bothered to scroll and check) hit the Ā£20 limit at Morrisons very easily. Thatā€™s a Ā£2k spend to get that with Chase!

Me, Iā€™ve got Ā£1.84 :money_with_wings::money_with_wings: so Iā€™d have been much better off with Chase

@MrsW maxed out at Ā£20 a few days ago and missed about Ā£3 ā€˜extraā€™ (aka: with no limit, sheā€™d have hit Ā£23 by now)

Iā€™ve got Ā£8.34 so far in the same cycle. Kinda shows whoā€™s tight and who spends.

I got about Ā£9 odd over a week, but that was just trialling it, missed out on a few Ā£ for buying from pets at home and then wondering why cashback didnā€™t come - didnā€™t activate it :upside_down_face:

I hit the limit easily enough. Supermarket shops alone were probably good enough for it. I havenā€™t looked to calculate how much I ā€˜missed outā€™ on, no point in tormenting myself. Not least because the cap was clear from the very start, so I canā€™t claim surprise (I knew) nor unfairness (they couldnā€™t have been any more up-front).

Youā€™re not opting into any kind of data sharing with Chase though, which is where it wins for me.

You can earn more, and faster with Monzo (assuming the offers remain as attractive when their partners are funding it) but it comes at a privacy cost Iā€™m not happy to pay.

As a Yorkshireman Iā€™d probably use the words ā€œcarefulā€ and ā€œprofligateā€ :joy:

Can anyone help me out here?

Whatā€™s 10 x Ā£20? :money_mouth_face:

That would be Ā£200 - unless it is a trick question :disguised_face:

If thatā€™s true then that is quite a jump from Ā£20!

Or maybe, spend here over 10 times, minimum Ā£10 each time, and get Ā£20 back.

Where can I check where I am with the limit?

Or maybe give Monzo Ā£200 and they will give you Ā£10 back
