A version of this is actually one of my weekly staples at the moment! You can make a really good smoked salmon alternative out of carrots and nori (with a few steps granted) and vegan ācream cheeseā is everywhere.
Couldnāt say anymore if itās very close to the original but it makes a darn fine bagel!

Really want to go to Leigh Bagel Bar in Leigh-on-Sea now
I knew there was something missing from my life. Sadly Iām out of bagels right now, but when I go on my next Essentials trip, Iāll be living my best lift.
(And obviously you reapply the butter. If itās soft enough you can eat it like dip. Just saying).
Iāve been getting close to a variant of this that I think is almost perfect.
Using Quorn āchickenā on a previous posts recommendation (Iāve never tried āfake meatā before but in this context it works well), a layer of the obligatory hummus and then sliced cucumber for texture. I think replacing the cucumber with pickled beetroot could be a winner and Iāll try that next!
I tried to get the chicken one on my delivery this week as I know I love that but it wasnāt in stock, theyāve sent me a ham version which Iāve not tried yet, going for a long walk in a bit and when I get back itāll be a sandwich with the fake ham and pickles

Well if you want to be that semantic you grandma should have been using the word bajgiels.
So itās not a bagel but I had hamless ham, picalili, red onion chutney, beetroot, pickled onions, pickled red cabbage and picked cucumber. Was pretty tasty to be fair and would work in a bagel
Does anyone know why New York Bagel Co. (I think thatās there name) stopped slicing their bagels? I remember they said it was customer feedback or something like that but does anyone use bagels and not slice them?
