I recently tried to purchase something from eBay.com that was listed in USD. When paying with my Monzo card, PayPal charged a currency conversion fee into GBP 
Does anyone know of a way to get around this? 
There is an option in PayPal which you have to change to stop PayPal doing the transaction in GBP and in the billing currency. It is default to using PayPal’s method. I use this link to find the options https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_profile-merchant-pull-funding and click Conversion Options on the correct card.
The other method if you don’t like clicking links is to log into PayPal, click the cog to go to Account. Click Payments. Click Manage Pre-approved payments, click Set Available Funding Sources, click Conversion Options.
