My last attempt resulted in this, as it was obviously hugely controversial
So third time lucky…

- Other

For avoidance of doubt, this is a poll on sex, not gender.

I voted but I don’t think “other” is inclusive at all tbh.
I’d also be curious as to the intent of this poll, is it so you can say “of the x asked xx said they were male” in a study, or to confirm the bias you pushed in the other poll which said finance was male dominated?
I know that in the tech sector finance is thankfully becoming more diverse and a lot of good effort is going into that.
What do you expect to get from it? Really curious but this poll without any real context is a little strange.
Why is this so important to you?
Did you not consider taking a hint?
This is what the mute feature is for
I believe that it may have been unlisted for a reason.
@AlanDoe can you take a look at this and see if you’re happy with the topic?
In other words Monzo are happy with an exceptionally broad range of topics, but an optional poll that may or may not show that woman are underrepresented within this community is controversial?
I am a Monzo fan and female does that help.
What is the context for this poll?
Edit - just seen the last but one post.
What community?
I wouldn’t worry. Lots of people have voted already, and it’s optional. Women are definitely not excluded from this forum, it’s a shame that the original poll was removed (borderline sexist in my view)!
What’s funny about this, is that every single topic on this forum looked at, you’ve commented on. You either have a lot of time on your hands, or a a lot of opinions. Or both. Either way, women in tech is something I care about.
Are you going to go into the streets with a sandwich board and a bell to try and level things up?
Posting on a forum is not “in tech” either.
I did wonder what Boden was going to do with her time off.
As long as it’s not writing another bloody book.

fwiw the ONS has guidance on polling for genders Guidance for questions on sex, gender identity and sexual orientation for the 2019 Census Rehearsal for the 2021 Census - Office for National Statistics
The updated guidance was cognitively tested with 23 respondents who were purposively recruited (that is, based on their characteristics). The following characteristics were represented in the sample:
Although n=23 is tiny

Aw man! And I thought I’d checked everything so carefully. I think editing breaks polls, though, so will have to leave my shame for all to see.
Also, I’m impressed at your your reply elegantly skirts the risk of invoking Muphry’s law
It’s not controversial, to me at least, but it’s certainly a little interesting. Even @Peter_G the pollmaster doesn’t just put polls out without context.
If I remember in the original post you also made some strong assumptions around the volume of men v woman in finance which need data to back up the claim.
EDIT: I original said the claim there were more men in finance wasn’t true. But I can’t say that for sure so I’ve updated.
