Are you #FullMonzo?

Yeah it’s got worse and worse in my opinion. Only
Keep it open in case they ever pull their finger out

I don’t like the new app design or what I feel is the general direction of Monzo.

There is a thread about it somewhere.

I have no intention of going back. Don’t get me wrong never had any issues with starling but just prefer using Monzo.

Thanks - just read through it. Interesting.

I’m personally fully, joint accounts aren’t, current is with Starling (partner personal account is there, so I compromised) and joint savings with Marcus

Yes for day-to-day…I’d be totally screwed if I was locked out. But I do use a credit card, so I’d be OK for a bit, and I have investments elsewhere.

I’ve tried quite a few banks in the past five years HSBC (archaic) Nationwide (building society I know but good) Kroo (middling) but I’m currently full Monzo with no intention of leaving - just love the UI and features - apart from joint account disparity with personal - but use joint, flex and extra for linking to John Lewis CC, savings challenge 1p round up savings and pension awaiting capability to add fresh funds. The killer for me is that I left Monzo once for a cash incentive through CASS and immediately regretted it - had to wait ages to be let back in too - especially for the joint account with SWMBO who never left Monzo. Wise woman lol! PS we are both in our 60’s…

Was #fullmonzo, and when I was it really worked.

Now, I actually am #nomonzo** - I have the account but it’s dormant. Nothing has really made me want to come back yet.

A few reasons I never quite made it back yet, I think they’ve been covered previously

been full monzo for personal banking for ages, love it. still get the odd ‘issue’ - paid some cash in yesterday at a post office and the cashier said “want to charge your monzo? I think I have to swipe it” and tutted. I assured it was a normal bank, but she didn’t believe me. do my business banking with mettle, which is fandabbydozzee (showing my age).

Nicola Sturgeon, wasn’t it?

Just about to switch out, I mean Monzo are ok, but I don’t think I am their target demographic. I liked Flex however, very transparent and you could see what you have paid off and what you have outstanding much easier.

Watch out when you CASS out, some one forgot to close their Flex properly before CASSing out and got a debt collection email.

Yep me too, closed it off and emptied out all my savings pots.

I used to be, but now I have aged out of their target demographic and earn more than I did when I first went all in, so I’m not the right fit for Monzo and vice versa.

Their CS fills me with absolute dread that if anything were to go wrong, you’re basically on your own with the ‘hi its x taking over, let me read from the script’ messages straight outta South Africa.

Comes a point where you value trust and security over a fancy app and a free sausage roll.

That said, I find the Monzo app horribly convoluted these days.

Shame as they were something really great once upon a time.
