Surely, if Version 2.0 is being held for the “fully-fledged” Current Account then I would presume that Apple Pay would come with that.

Does Apple Pay require an app change anyway? I wouldn’t have thought so.

True, I’m not entirely sure but from what I’ve seen anyone bringing out Apple Pay has released an app update to say Apple Pay had arrived along with other bug fixes.

Probably the most active thread on Apple Pay has all the answers you may need, but the short version is it’s being worked on but currently no ETA unfortunately

I wonder if there is any odd overlap with Apple Pay Cash? New iOS update today includes that but USA only.
Can’t see any reason why Apple would have issues with another challenger bank using Apple Pay.
Apple Pay Cash in the states is using a bank called the Green Dot to operate the pots of money. That is more or less a challenger bank… I wonder if they are going to do the same in the UK and use one of the challenger banks e.g. (Monzo, TCB, …) or go for one of the big players…

That’d get very interesting, very quickly. There is brand affinity I would think.
I believe Apple Pay Cash basically works like a prepaid card and seeing that Monzo is in a massive push to ditch the prepaid card as quickly as possible, I wouldn’t have thought that this would be a market that they would want to jump straight back into.
I could be wrong though! Maybe Monzo are clearing everyone off prepaid so that they can reuse the infrastructure for this!

No, Monzo are closing down the prepaid card because the infrastructure belongs to someone else. If they were ever to do something similar it would be on back office tools and structures of their own.
If I was a guessing man I’d say the issue here is that Monzo have take their payments system in house and doesn’t have the longevity for Apple to let their system run on it confidently.

Hey! I just got my new Monzo card which is also my brand new shiny current account 
But, when will Monzo make the feature available for you to ‘add’ card to your apple wallet?!
Any ideas when or thoughts?

Long story short, Apple enforces NDAs on this so Monzo can’t say anything even if they wanted to.
It’s been on the roadmap since ages and they are not saying anything else so it’s certain they’re working on it and signed the NDA.

If you have read the T&C which bank is backing Apple Pay Cash in the UK? (Or is this you being with an US account?)
