It appears I do as well!
I see what you are saing but I think the Pay Early flow screen could do with a bit more blurb and maybe a link to pay off individual lines/whole balance in there.

Looks great. From completed. Will Flex transactions now appear in the Activity feed on the new Home layout?
I got the change now. I like it, my only comment is Iām not sure the areas are in the right order (and not in keeping with the order of things in other new areas of the app)
To me it would make more sense to have activity first (like on the the home/main overview screen, and also the new pots screens too which is followed by scheduled payments) and that way all the payment areas could be grouped together?
So for me that would be the card at the top followed by activity, followed by limit, followed by payments and then payment settings.
Alternatively card, limit, activity, payments, payment settings.
Hope that helps.
Edit: Am working in the assumption that only 3 transactions will show in the activity feed until tapping see all? Or will it show all active transactions?
Must be part of the mini rollout as have the new feed already.
Not sure if activity should be first then the payment t options but I guess if youāve had a lot of activity the payment screen gets pushed further down.
Like the graphic on % used but this could be put on the card graphic as well to save space.
Can confirm: the beginning of the end for the carousel. If I scroll to where Flex used to live, I now get thisā¦
Loving the new page for it. The layout and ordering of the elements makes sense. Payments at the top, followed by recent transactions, followed by all the rest of the administrivia. See all shows a full list of transactions. Navigation into and out of a transaction detail page works as expected from both list lengths, and it all fits nicely with the new look summary screen.
Nice fresh layout, I like.
We knew this was coming already
I didnāt have it until maybe 30 minutes ago, as I was kill/reloading hopefully for a while after filling out the form, until @TomMills told us not to expect it today⦠but mine appeared!!!
Aesthetically, that might work, but functionally, if all you wanted to see was your limit / available balance - the item you list first, you can do that from summary, and would never even need to go to this page. I would expect that most user visits to it will be either to make a payment, or to check up on recent activity (checking for unrecognised, seeing if something has come through, etc.), so personally, I prefer it with the activity and payments above limit and admin options. Those last are the things Iād need to use this page for least.
Agreed, a little bar just below the Available figure on the card would be nice, but it would imblanace the look of the card, as there would then be too much on the right, compared to left.
Oh wow. Filled in the form but then opened my app to see am also part of the mini roll out
Like it!
Maybe pay extra fits better on the card alongside pay now? Itās in the ellipses menu already so you donāt actually have to go to this new flex account summary screen to do that. Maybe pay now on the card should also be called pay early?
Itās all a little bit of duplication. Upcoming payments is still worthwhile for me though
My main gripe at the moment is that unless itās your front card, which I donāt like the aesthetic of, you have to click twice to get to the feed. For what seems like such an interactive element, Iād love a way to get there in one click.
Iād happily let you move my āpremiumā star tab up to be a little icon next to the present, and put flex as a permenant navigation bar button. Premium takes up so much space and I use it so little
Also now we have a flex activity feed, can flex transactions be added to the main feed? It worried me a little that we now have two completely seperate feeds when my main reason for going full Monzo is that I can easily see and manage all my finances at once. Having a non unified feed doesnāt help this
Form done , looking forward to testing this out
I have it and I really like it, big improvement. Monzo are on a roll last few months.
I think their plan is to include a whole lot more in the unified feed. Also that it will be fully searchable too
After the new view was activated for Flex, I few hours later I got the new view for pots too. Before today, clicking on a pot in the new view took me to the old ui view.
The only time I see the old ui now is when I click on my connected account.
Interestingly, while flex has the new āmovedā screen, I can still manage my pots in the old ui after getting to it from my connected account.
(Hopefully that made sense, as its late and Iām tired⦠Lol)
This
I think this would be a perfect opportunity to introduce some micro-interactions, something I think the monzo app really lacksā¦
When you tap the flex card right now, it splits the cards before you tap on it again to load the new feed⦠BUT, I think when you select a card, it should assume the position at the top, fade/animate the feed out (and unselected cards), then load in the respective page for the selected card (instead of a sheet view)ā¦
P.S.
The new feed looks great, Iām guessing something similar soon for our main card?
With the carousel, if you want to view the feed (transaction list) for two different cards or pots you could just enter the carousel and swipe left/right to get to different cards/pots.
Whatās the quickest way to move between two cards/pots without the carousel? Is it the case that once you are in the first one you need to go back to the home page before you can access the second one?
This worries me too. Itās fast and easy to swipe & scroll through account & pot feeds with the current carousel.
Going the āone-feedā route, similar to a parent/child folder architecture, means always waaaaaaay more taps.
In the new design, you go back to the summary page (1 tap), then tap into another account (1 tap), for a total of two taps, possibly plus a single swipe to scroll up or down to view the second account/pot.
The functionality that you lost, of swiping sideways, is great if you have 1-2 accounts and 2-4 pots, since nothing is more than 5 swipes, with a median of 3, so itās quick and easy. However, it did not scale. I have 3 monzo accounts, 7 pots, and 9 linked accounts, which means that by swiping, youāre looking at a median of 9 swipes, and a maximum of 18! 2 or possibly 3 actions is SO MUCH FASTER for me. Even using the old method of going via the account list page took significantly more effort than the new way, thanks to the non-intuitive actions, and the fact they had inconsistent effects at times (e.g. swipe down on an account feed would either return to the list, or just scroll if you werenāt at the top already).
Yeah, appreciate that. Although Iām not sure its an argument for getting rid of the carousel navigation entirely. It seems to me carousel navigation of cards/pots could co-exist with the new home page (as it has been for the last few months), even with the new view/feed for each card/pot.
Although for me this is not a big deal (I asked more out of curiosity).
