App Evolution (new look Monzo app): Feedback Megathread šŸ“£

Intriguing!

What happens when you tap on it?!

This is what I get - an Add Money screen:

Ahh… you’ve nailed it.

It’s the Djoint account.

That’s what causes the Ddifference. A Djoint account allows you to move money, whereas a Personal account only let’s you add money.

EDIT: Come on peeps, throw me a bone - this is the solution. Tough crowd. Select ā€˜Solution’ if you agree.

I think you misunderstand me! I’m not saying throw it all on the main screen. I’m saying that there are enough hooks on the main screen to have contextual links to those functions, not an arbitrary set of five down below.

I can safely say I won’t be ever hitting add money, I would hit a move money button as I shift money into our Nationwide joint quite a bit. It’s just one of those things where I don’t get the point of that button

I like Hamburgers. And I like Android

This is all a side show! I still need to know what happens when you tap the mysterious Move Money icon!

Back in the day, the first versions of both Monzo and Starling had hamburger menus on Android and bottom tabs on iOS :eyes:

Thank you! :bowing_man:

Ah this will drive the amazing transfer between pots screen!

Hypothesis: Move Money only shows when you have a joint or business account - it’ll pop up for everyone once pot transfers are enabled!

You may think that, but I couldn’t possibly comment.

Oof - Joint account holders have an upper hand with a feature?

Who’d-a-thunk-it?

I really didn’t! That was all there from the first time. I promise!

I really like the new layout, I’ve been using it for a few weeks before I had the rollout notifications. It’s enough that I’m moving back to using Monzo as my main account.

It feels more polished and more well presented. I do like others have some areas that I wish could be tweaked:

Left to spend, I wish this was the old left to spend. Visually I like trends but I’ve struggled to get it to properly reflect my accounts and so it’s little value to me in its current form.

Activity could do with options to tweak the number of entries listed.

Other accounts, it would be nice to have the option to make these scroll in a horizontal manner.

Overall though, I like the direction it’s going.

Joint account only I think, I have business and it shows Add Money for me.

I’m finding the UI around the summary for each account and flex rather counter-intuitive.

When I click on the card at the top of the screen, sometimes the view expands, sometimes it doesn’t. I would also expect by clicking on it again to get the transaction view for that account. Sometimes it does, sometimes it don’t, sometimes it provides the card details screen. It seems really inconsistent. This is on iOS

How do you hide the pots tab if you don’t have any?

Doesn’t look like you can. Always leaves the Create a pot option

In the new layout how do you see how much you have in your account (pots+non pot money)?

In the older layout when you click your face photo in the top left the total amount you have in your account is right there above my joint account and pots and same for my personal account below it.

No idea. I can’t find it either :man_shrugging:

I think someone else posted about the absence of this feature in the new layout.

I think they’re looking to bring this option back but currently I don’t believe it’s possible.
