App Evolution (new look Monzo app): Feedback Megathread šŸ“£

Is there any thoughts/progress whether positive or not about having the ability to expand the investments section so that it’s the same as pots?

I know early in the thread Emma mentioned how you/she didn’t expect the demand/requests for pots in a list, is this the same again? I totally get the vertical screen real estate argument, but the further down you go, the less I think this matters. And then there’s less and less below it.

From here, I have absolutely zero idea what is my money so free to spend on Taylor Swift and what is our money that needs to be saved for a new bathroom.

I do have spotlights set up, so it’s not a completely hidden figure and I can do some quick-maffs to get there, but stretched would be a lot better. Having the totals split by :bust_in_silhouette: & :busts_in_silhouette: as they are with regular pots would be great too.

This is going to be even more of a request if/when people can have multiple saving pots.

But of course!

Using pots to put money aside for the day out, even with Eras Tour graphic

I missed out #Sad

I’ll be streaming it soon though!

That’s good to hear. I don’t like everything about the new interface but it’s now ar the stage where I like or can live with most things. And it’s been good to see that on many things there’s been development to give people choice of how they want to see things. Two examples were giving separate personal/joint totals for pots, and the ability to display as a list in addition to the carousel option.

The subsequent separation out of savings pots to a separate section, and the lack of a separate total for personal and joint, is awful and a step backwards - as is the inability to just scroll a visible list of the savings pots.

Please, at the very least let us see them as a list with two totals in the header. And for preference, just move them back into the Pots section where they belong.

This is good to know. The seperated ā€œstandardā€ pots vs ā€œsavingsā€ pots is really starting to annoy me.

I have a frustration with the implementation of the ā€˜current account feed’ / transaction list.

Use case:

I want to scroll down through my current account transaction list to find a transaction.

Issue:

Pressing the Monzo ā€˜card’ on the Home Screen takes me to a list of only 30 transactions going back two days.

To scroll any further, I have to scroll to the bottom of the list and press ā€˜See All’. This then loads a duplicate ā€˜All Activity’ transaction list which I then have to scroll down through again, from the start / top.

This seems one screen too many and I don’t see why I need to ā€˜see all’ - I feel an endlessly scrollable ā€˜All Activity’ transaction list should be the default landing point from the Home Screen.

This also means an additional ā€˜back’ press to get back to the Home Screen (assuming I don’t press the Home button).

Not sure whether this ā€˜intermediate’ transaction feed is restricted to 2 days or 30 transactions, but at the start of the month / around pay day where I have a massive salary sort, lots of payments going out, interest earned lines, and various transfers, it’s a completely redundant screen for scrolling to a pretty recent transaction.

Press ā€œsee allā€ and that removes a tap, a back and you can scroll through them all.

Seems like a retrograde step for users… that somehow benefits monzo… probably saves them $$ somewhere down the line…

If you mean ā€˜see all’ from the Home Screen, this includes transactions from all my linked accounts and cards, which I don’t like. It’s massively to cluttered with inter-account transfers, for example.

I want to do this exclusively on my current account, via my current account ā€˜card’.

You can exclude those if you tap the 3 dots and tap Edit activity.

IDK
but just because you can put both the main account and pot on one screen layer, that you should  it really REALLY doesn’t save any clickage spent to get to said main account transactions more than, I think it is the last three. Just put my main account on one screen layer with all my transaction as far back as I want to scrooooooool down, without clicking :pray:t2:…and a toggle to quickly, one click away to my ALL my pots, all of them, on one screen layer. Is there a toggle to get to this kind of interface that I have missed.
Thank you for any advice.

@AlanDoe can this go to App Evolution thread :pray:t3:

Not sure if this feedback is best placed here or on the investments thread. It would be super great if there could be a up or down arrow icon added to the investments total part on the homepage to see what’s going on at a glance without having to tap in - I know it’s only one tap away but having that accessible right away would be nice!

Should have put this here, but not elsewhere, but if you use Dynamic text on iOS, the account numbers on the cards at the top, either split across two lines or in one case it merges into the over draft limit of a connected account

What app version are you using? I don’t get that edit activity option on iOS, app version 5.51.0

Are you tapping on the 3 dots to the top-right of the ā€˜Activity’ section (not the 3 dots on the bottom-right of the card image)?

Bottom right.

Strange, nothing there for me!
