There are some state restoration APIs that make this technically possible, e.g. if you left the app on the account focussed and itās killed in the background then we could land you back there. But thatās not necessarily the best idea because that could lead to you missing some really critical thing on your home screen like unexpected overdraft fees on a different account, or some warning about your account being locked
To be fair if the account isnāt at the front of the stack itās two taps to get there with todayās experience, but this is fixed with the account focus views Labs toggle that we hope to roll out to everyone early in the new year
A lot of people have complained that they donāt like the changes (or change in general), but have grown to like it. Give it a while and Iām sure youāll get used to it
I also find it hard to believe that Monzo are hacking away at these changes carelessly. It will all be justified on data.
They are still taking feedback onboard and refining things - including the ability to hide and move different sections coming at some point in the near future. Hopefully, with a few more customisation options (i.e. opening by default to your personal card page or something like that) more people will be happy over the next few months.

If this is the case, absolutely fine by me. My initial point was the total lack of choice offered. Iām sure theyāre not messing with it for fun and you canāt keep everyone happy. But the lack of customisation in this day and age is jarring when people have high expectations. And I imagine the vast majority of users are like me and not as highly engaged as yourself.
There is lots of customisation already available, but youāre never going to be able to move/redesign everything to exactly how you want it, thatās not logical.
Itās been said many times about landing directly on the transaction list, this is the latest staff reply about it, just a few posts up.
I just noticed something thatās minor but annoying. On the new labs view, i refresh my Lloyds credit card (i just paid it) and it changes to Ā£0. Switching back to the main home view and it goes back to the previous amount. I can go into and out of the credit card view and it goes between 2 balances. Seems the home page isnāt using the new pulled balance value.
I was wondering why the smooth animation wasnāt working for me, but as soon as I unpinned my flex card today it started working? Iām guessing this is a side effect of being a tester for the new flex screen?
I also donāt have anything pending right now to check, but iām pretty sure the āamount availableā on linked credit cards doesnāt take into account āpendingā transactions, meaning it displays the wrong amount
I liked when the new layout was first rolled out as a trial/beta and you could choose to revert the layout to the old one if you didnāt want to see the new layout. Is this sort of optionality not possible as a permanent feature?
Iām pretty sure my Tesco card in Monzo includes pending in its balance. Monzo also improved the Tesco integration so that transactions stay on the date you made them rather than changing to the date they were processed once they go out of pending. I posted this in the other thread in the hope theyād do the same for my JL card.
Itās most likely technically possible but whether thereās a business case for it is another matter.
During the time that the new interface has been rolling out, people come on here and moan about it, threaten to leave, realise that the grass isnāt greener on the other side, then get used to it.
How do you expand a card without going to the card detail page? Previously youād tap once on a card in the (not) carousel widgety thing and itād show the card details and tap again to go into the detail and transactions⦠has that first tap been removed now⦠not complaining, I just hadnāt realised it didnāt do that for me anymore

Looks like you canāt anymore. Before this āsingle tapā flow came in, you could press and hold on a card to make it āpeepā and show itās details without actually showing the full card.
Wasnāt used often but was a nice touch⦠Now itās gone.
Youāre right, thatās gone as part of the move to the focus views. The vast majority of the time, people wanted to view the account, and so it took 2 taps.
The transition is actually a pretty complex implementation and keeping the peek was going to be even harder to get right, with not enough usage.
