App Evolution:Feedback Megathread 📣

Nope.

I don’t even have the free card yet :worried:

I didn’t expect Whack-a-Mole to be built into a banking app.

Peak gamifying finance.

If you tap “get paid early” on the “Do more with Monzo” widget it says T&Cs apply but doesn’t link to them and it also doesn’t mention the Bacs requirement at any point either.

I wonder if Monzo Aura will be their AI within the app itself to move money to and from pots, offer guidance or tips to maximise budgets etc, forming part of Monzo One (whatever that will be).

Oh that’s a good shout actually.

I think you’ve cracked it.

Looks better than the slim tiles.

Sounds horrible. I don’t want AI in my banking app. Unless it’s using a local model, then maybe. And a way to turn it off.

Most are looking that way. You can disable it in revolut which is great.

Does that deny rev’s ai processing your data regardless or just simply turn off the chat box/interface?

I am not anti AI but the risks of its processing your data regardless is leakage when they bork an update to its engine, the risk would only be mitigated if disabling the AI prevented that chatbox AI/interface from processing your data.

Who knows, can’t remember if it ever said it was local only.

It’s 99% not going to be local. Far far too much of a spread of mobile devices to ensure they can handle the storage and processing.

I would also be pretty sure turning off the interface does nothing to prevent the data being processed all the time by the AI in case you turn the interface on again but you never know. I would assume it’s still in AI unless they were very clear it wasn’t as a selling point of data privacy.

I’d welcome an AI assistant. Done right, it’s an incredibly powerful tool that could unlock a whole plethora of data and give me a much deeper understanding of my finances.

I dont have to wait for Monzo to release stuff then :upside_down_face:

Revolut’s AI policy is at https://www.revolut.com/legal/rita-disclaimer/ but it’s not quite as in-depth as it could be e.g. Starling’s one at How Starling uses AI | Starling mentions which partners they use etc.

I don’t think it will be/should be, anything too fancy. Everything these days is called AI when it’s really just some formula based rules.

“You normally spend £x between now and payday, you’ve currently got £y, you could save that money” etc etc.

it isn’t going to be moving money around for you.

I’m married, this is a joint account, I’m never going to want to split a bill with anyone else anyway - any way to get rid of these 2 huge options for bill splitting which have recently appeared?

It’s pushed the Notes field (which I do use) right down the bottom of the page.

No way you can remove them. Personally i think it’s an obvious place to put them however they could be smaller

That’s a pain. With the number of customers they have now, there has to a fair proportion who aren’t splitting every last transaction with their 20-something mates. (And yes, I’m a grumpy old man :joy:).

Maybe they should give you the option to choose which categories it applies to, or to turn it off completely.

I’ve only ever used it for restaurant bills
