Of interest is the (reported) change to the data in apps only being updated if they are being used - background apps will no longer update data, saving battery/location-pings/data usage/etc.
Android Q might be launching today which means I’ll be rocking a wildly unstable Pixel 3XL for the next 6 months, jumping from preview build to preview build
First time in a long time that I won’t be eligible for the beta as I’m still rocking an OG Pixel XL.
Apparently there’s this feature called Treble which makes it quick and easy to update phones but I guess Google don’t have the resources to support their two year old flagships. #LeadingByExample
The Q beta will apparently be available to even more devices compared to the Pie beta from last year. That one was available on devices by 8 different OEMs (Google, Essential, Nokia, OnePlus, Oppo, Sony, Vivo, Xiaomi). If they can get Samsung, LG, or Huawei on board this year that would be pretty cool.
Being a huge Google nerd I listen to the android developers backstage podcast and their project treble stuff has come along way they said in the last episode. I can see Q reaching more devices then ever
