I saw how Bill Split and manual requests for money (to people who aren’t with Monzo, as shared in a link e.g. via text message) can be paid off directly via Apple Pay or other direct payment methods and I thought this was a really useful idea - so I was surprised to find that it doesn’t appear in Running Splits. The friend can only look at the list of transactions and then mark it as settled up via cash or bank transfer. It literally says “this won’t send (Cloud) any money”.
That’s a shame as it just adds an extra step for other people - they have to send me a payment by hand like the bad old days AND go into the split and mark it as paid, which is more work for them than just doing a transfer and typing “sent” in a text back to me.
Obviously it’s kind of an incentive for them to join Monzo but honestly I think the way basically every other aspect of Monzo nails it and makes things easier for everyone, is a much better advert to my family/friends than when I send them this funny splitting thing that makes them do more work 
If it had “settle up with Apple Pay” they’d be more impressed I think.
