An ‘acceptable’ flash? No other banking app needs one at all, why does Monzo?

Maybe they’re just not aware :man_shrugging:

This topic is a year and half old and only has a couple of people that have mentioned it. It might not even be on their radar.

Literally blink and you miss it, point proven.

How do I make them aware?

I’ve left app feedback, sent them a tweet, posted on here.

In app chat is the way to go, if you haven’t already. Search contact us, if it doesn’t show up

In app chat claim to pass it onto the relevant team but whether that happens or not I’m not sure. I think this is the best route though.

The other way is to encourage people to vote on here. They’ve always said that suggestions that get a substantial amount will get their attention - but they still wont guarantee it will be done as a result.

My balance is visible for enough time to read it on my pixel 5 , android 11, latest monzo app beta.

When the app has been recently opened you can’t see the balance, it seems to be only visible when opening after the app has been closed and ‘swiped’ away.

I can see it being an issue for some people, generally no one is going on my phone , and most of my money is in pots so you’d only see a few hundred quids.

As said in my original post, I said it’s “Not a huge problem” but as others have demonstrated its possible to capture whatever is displayed. Tbh, anyone that posts here with the issue and thinks it needs fixing should just up vote it, the button is at the top of the page.

This is an issue on my device atm:

Samsung Galaxy Fold Z 2 5G
Android 11
One UI 3.1.1
Monzo App version 4.1.1

I’ll contact them via chat at some point but just had a response via Twitter too.

“Our team are aware of the issue here and are looking into it”

On iOS, the Monzo app defaulted to no authentication at all to open the app - I had to enable it in Settings. Well, I didn’t have to, it still authenticates for anything important.

I’ve noticed that the Amex app (at least on iOS) shows the balance and recent transactions for a good second before blanking out and using Face ID.
