You’re right. They could, but they didn’t. Not doing so what classify as subpar service. Even if I removed the apartment number, they’d just dump the package wherever.
Yes, I told them to leave packes inside at the front office, but they unfortunately never followed these instructions.
Worth keeping in mind that delivery for Amazon and Prime Now/ Food is handled by different companies. Because of refrigerated items/ food safety, food deliveries also require someone to be at home to accept the package. I had so many issues with Amazon Prime Now (incorrect items most of the time) that I had refunds on 5 out of 6 orders. I stopped using the service because it was unreliable.
Amazon have done the right thing - they clearly can’t offer you a reliable service, and they have recognised that.
In San Antonio where I live, Amazon delivers both their packages and Prime Now/Food themselves. Interesting enough, I never had any issues with Prime Now. They always found their way to my apartment.
That’s for sure, but I wish they would still let me buy my eBooks and comics through Comixology. W ell, well.
Here food delivery and now is Morrison’s. Morrisons use independent delivery drivers who are often freelancers. I swear I’ve seen my prime now delivery arriving on a push bike before … to be frank I stopped using it and my memory can be …unreliable.
I suppose the point is Amazon’s goodwill only goes so far and would they really look into every single package that is delivered to you or your apartment block?
I agree Amazon’s service was un-satisfactory but at which point I would’ve washed my hands with them as they aren’t giving you what you’ve paid for.
It seems a fairly logical response from Amazon as they can’t substantiate your claims that you didn’t receive the packages. Unfortunate though it may be.
I’ve actually had nothing but positive experiences with Prime deliveries in Norfolk, except on one occasion where a three item parcel had arrived missing the most expensive item, a mobile phone.
I had a replacement phone the next day and I was informed a week later that Amazon had identified the person responsible for the missing item and disciplined them, though they did not elaborate on what action was taken.
