Zopa Bank Chat

I’m definitely seeing an improvement in the app/notification quickness etc but I agree the text code verification while it’s good to see from a safety element, I’d agree a fingerprint should be enough.

I’m half expecting my account to just disappear though as I asked them to close it a month ago lol. Maybe if I keep money in there it will stay open. :joy:

It’s the same for the credit card, even viewing the pin.

Less annoying than having to scan my face with RBS to view my pin I suppose.

I don’t mind it, only asks me when I’m setting up a new payee in RBS.

Omg why have they not thought of a better way. Surely secure* device biometrics are the best way to verify identity. It is rather stupid, although I guess it remains with the banks control, instead of outsourcing the security to the potentially jailbroken phone**

*Excluding Android 2D Face Unlock. That’s significantly less secure, and a picture of a face can be used to bypass said security feature.

**Although banking apps aren’t supposed to run on these devices

I wish they’d just use FaceID.

Is anyone else’s Zopa app popping a message that ISA withdrawals are having issues right now, and then a few seconds later says “you’re offline”?

It did this yesterday morning, then it was ok later, same thing again this morning.

Mine looks ok.

Finally, an invite has appeared. How long does it take them to do the ID verification?

Mine was instant.

Really poor chat experience today.
Trying to set up a payment with my car insurance and it keeps failing. The live chat response mentions credit card providers and literally closed the chat after sending the message…. No time to even respond back.

Yes. When invoked it ground my Compaq TC1000 Tablet PC’s Transmeta Crusoe processor to run and hide from real-time translation of Windows code. Boy, am I glad the early 2000’s came and went. And Clippy too. Gormless-looking ‘character’. Although every Karen in Accounts Payable probably liked it.

EDIT: That made me think and I found an image of my work setup in 2003 in the New York office I worked out of:

Technology may have changed but the setup hasn’t. Portable device docked to a screen, keyboard, mouse & speakers. And webcam (!) Plus added combo printer AND fax. Then we’re talking.

Thread derailed :train: :boom: As you were…

That’s still my set-up now…

Clippy was insufferably cheerful and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble - only thing was he just would not shut up - unless you turned him off, which everyone did to stop themselves punching his lights out.

What’s the fixed rate for Zopa current account holders? I saw a notification for it asking me to sign up but now I can’t find it on the website.

2% according to the app.

Going to give the account a good test next payday - all DDs transferred over and will transfer in my salary.

As always, I’ll keep you all posted

You are a glutton for punishment aren’t you?

Admire the courage to go all in with these new accounts. I wouldn’t put five bob in them.

I really am haha!
I must say though, setting up the DDs were a breeze so far though - all merchants accepted the details and they are showing in the app already - including the one that I had issues with the other day, that’s resolved already!

Compare that to Kroo where a good number weren’t recognised and they were zero help when I reached out for support.
