I’m perfectly happy to pay them as a big user of youtube. It’s just a shame the family are welded to Spotify Premium as I’d shift them all over…
I didn’t realise how bad these ads actually were. On web I’m getting one at the start of every video - I’m skipping through a playlist, and getting an ad at the start of each one even if I only watched 2 seconds of the video. And it was the same ad for VistaPrint, 10 times within the space of a minute or two. I’m not surprised so many people ran ad blockers when they’re so obnoxious. It’s like having a forced advert every time you change the channel on the TV while channel hopping.
For some reason I haven’t had any ads on web for ages. I still have uBlock Origin installed, at one point I added an exemption for YouTube like it required, but then re-enabled uBlock and for weeks since I’ve had no ads. Has even persisted across browser updates, in the past they’d start again for a short time every browser restart but even that’s stopped.

Did you do that with your personal gmail account or a trash one?
I always wondered if google would ban accounts with the wrong billing as they have banned gmail accounts or less.
Some said to create a gash gmail account, buy family then add your main’s to it.
