Not me.

True.

We are not being dismissive. These issues happen everywhere even with the bigger providers.
I think Wise has a far greater exposure to abuse/fraud than most UK only providers. So I expect to see more complaints around compliance coming their way.
I have also seen multiple people with restricted accounts saying Wise has no right as for the information they asked, why does Wise want to know my source of funds, etc, that their business should be to move money not to poke their noses in what the money does, where it goes/come and such.

Some of them are very clearly against terms of use but still want to argue it out that it is Wise’s fault.

I see similar sentiments in the Revolut subreddit

Have used Wise for many years, including the debit card abroad, never had an issue apart from it being declined on a plane once. I wouldn’t use them as a replacement for my main bank though.

Then again I’ve never had an issue with Revolut or Monzo either, both get a lot of hate for closures.

I guess it’s one of those things that you think won’t happen to you, until it does.

“““Wise Plc is rolling out everyday bank accounts in the UK as it seeks to take up more market share from longtime banks and other fintechs.

The London-based money transfer company is launching an account that will hold money and pay out a 3.26% variable interest rate on balances, according to a statement Monday. Customers will also be able to sign up for direct debit for recurring payments.

The fintech firm, known for its cheap foreign exchange offerings, is expanding its digital banking services in an increasingly crowded market. Monzo Bank Ltd. has 15 million personal and business customers, while Revolut Ltd. has 13 million in the UK, where it recently received its UK banking license.

“This is also what is very important to us: that our customers are not only spending but also holding and growing money with us,” Chief Finance Officer Emmanuel Thomassin said in an interview.

Wise currently holds an electronic-money license in the UK, which authorizes payment services but not lending. Its existing features allow users to hold, move and spend money in as many as 40 currencies abroad using the mid-market rate.

Yet Wise has been looking for more go-aheads from regulators. Last year, it applied to be a directly regulated bank in the US, after announcing plans to shift its primary stock listing from London to the US. Wise is still waiting for a decision on that application.

Wise is also opening a physical branch on London’s Oxford Street for two weeks to encourage account sign-ups and advertise its new offering.

Wise reported cross-border volume of £47.4 billion in the quarter ended Dec. 31, up 25% year-over-year. The firm’s active customers grew to 15.6 million globally in fiscal 2025, with holdings totaling £27.5 billion at the end of last year.

Customers are coming to Wise from “tier one banks” to access fast services, such as payments in less than 20 seconds, according to Thomassin.

Jefferies Financial Group Inc. analysts wrote in a note last week customer growth had helped Wise in “driving ever greater economies of scale and efficiency.” “““

This one has a bit more info than the brief announcement on FinExtra.

A notable addition to the offering is a travel hub, which includes an airport lounge pass option that enables customers in the UK and other select markets to purchase one-off lounge access passes. The hub also provides “practical advice on paying like a local”, explains Wise, with more features to be added “over the coming months”.

Furthermore, Wise is rolling out Young Explorer cards, designed for children under 18. These cards are linked to a guardian’s Wise current account and can be topped up for spending and cash withdrawals. Guardians will be able to approve payments, track spending, and receive instant notifications of transactions.

Nilan Peiris, Wise’s chief product officer, comments: “Banks haven’t kept pace with what customers expect for their current account. People shouldn’t need separate accounts for home and abroad.”

The product launch comes hot on the heels of Wise’s recent approval to operate in Thailand, where it secured five new licences from the Bank of Thailand and the Ministry of Commerce. These add to the more than 75 regulatory licences Wise holds globally.

I got the Young Explorer card few weeks ago.
I see they now added option to give the child access to the card on their own device. It wasn’t there when I joined.
The beta label is also not there anymore.

Ah. £30 is kind of expensive. I think they’re only £21 if you can get it via a Diners card.

I find great value in the WE. Some long hauls round trip can get me 5 lounge visits. Satisfied

WE is brilliant. I saved over £1000 in one holiday with it.

Fairly sure I get an update every day for Wise but never once adds vibration to notifications for iOS :joy:

How often are the white eco cards out of stock? I half-heartedly check every now and again and they never seem to be available

They post on X. One time they offered to give me a reminder once they get back in stock, and they did.
