Wiki: Current Account Switching Incentives šŸ’ø

Direct debits don’t need to pay out, just be active at the time of the switch.

Anyone know when the RBS text saying the £200 has been paid in would come, I have had the NatWest incentive two years ago but just trying my luck with RBS.
I got this text this morning but nothing about if I have / haven’t qualified for the switch

I wouldn’t think that any bank would message you if you haven’t qualified for a switch bonus; only if you have.

Bizarrely NatWest text me a day after I had the £200 put into my account.

Might be wrong but I’m sure NatWest group or Lloyds group do let you know that you haven’t qualified

Didn’t get any notification from RBS but the Ā£200 landed in the account not long ago.

Everyone getting the bonus did you add the £1.250?

I added it after the switch was completed.

Do Natwest inform you in any way about a switch? Short of the initial form I’ve heard nothing. Not even sure it’s going through!

I had a progress update from RBS today (switch due to complete on Friday):

I haven’t had any information from Natwest which is quite confusing.

RE: the deposit, do we know if the £1,250 has to sit in your account for 24 hours once you have submitted the switch or wait until the switch is completed and then deposit £1,250 for 24 hours?

To be honest it’s mostly just because of the uncertainty about where in the process my switch is.

As for terms, well boo to anyone who is snotty. Half of this forum wouldn’t exist if everyone meticulously spent ages reading and researching everything. Just because it can be found doesn’t mean it might not be pretty quick to just ask on here in case anyone knows off the top of their head.

But even reading the terms it’s not clear:

ā€œDeposit Ā£1,250 into your account within 60 days of switchingā€

Is that switch submission date?
Is that switch completion date?

Either RBS are better at communicating than NatWest or I’ve done something wrong with the switch form - this is why I’m confused!

Also doesn’t need to be Ā£1.250 one go, just needs to total the amount within 60 days of (what looks like based on comments above) requesting the switch.

Paid mine in this morning, switch supposed to complete tomorrow, will see when I get paid out!

Mine was 12 days from starting the account switch/opening to getting the bonus from NatWest. I put Ā£1251 in on a Wednesday evening and took it out on a Friday morning. I got the bonus last year but I’ve moved address and I used a different email this time. Doing RBS next

I wonder how they are tracking if you’ve had a claim before or it’s just on the goodwill that people won’t try it on. Could be as simple as a different email address

Let us know how you get on and if they pay out another £200

There was a post on Reddit yesterday about someone doing all three Ulster/RBS/NatWest at once and getting them all.

Makes me think my Switching days might not be quite over yet…

It’s always a risk and not a guarantee. If you want to try there’s evidence people have succeeded who already had the bonus.

The same token there’s people who opened all 3 this year switched accounts into them and took Ā£600.

All depends if the system catches you or clicks on

The bank definitely knows your identity though. It’s a bank. Your identity is checked and even if you move house, or use a different email, the bank 100% knows if you’ve been a customer before.
