Picking this up on Intercom ![]()
Reading the above, I can understand @anon18592995’s point. An expectation was set that things would happen, and those things didn’t happen.Taking an objective view of the above, it did read to me as though his disappointment/confusion/misunderstanding was not taken seriously by some.
Kudos to @anon50039658 for clearing up any disappointment/confusion/misunderstanding that James had and resolving that for him.
@anon78046859, I feel your pain, too. I’m excited and very keen to get a Monzo Current Account …but I wasn’t even selected as an investor, so that’s something that you have in your favour.
I’d recommend you do try Starling in the meantime. I have. And it is interesting and fairly good. Though, like Monzo, it is presently less than perfect.
Personally, I’m still hanging out for Monzo to come up with the Current Account product because I get the sense that they are the ones that are truly innovative in this area. We’ll see.
I’d totally recommend this too
We’re not competing against each other — the big banks are the target!
I’ve been thinking about looking at Starling for a while now, the only thing putting me off was that I only really wanted to do one credit check and that was for Monzo but now I’m not bothered and will just use it on Starling.
Not sure about Starling but we’ll only do a soft credit check on signup — so you’re all good to do both
True, although the usual lack of tone or expression to give context to the statements allows it to be read in a very different way which I suspect is what people were reacting to. Devoid of emotion, the written word is sometimes a very poor way to communicate. I have a love/hate relationship with forums for this reason.
Yes. Agreed. This has been the problem with online communication ever since I went on my first majordomo mailing list (email-based pre-cursor to forum software for those unfamiliar) all those years ago.
It’s not changed since. At least nobody here has invoked Godwin’s Law, so that makes this a generally friendly place
@anon70107404 thank you for your support.
@Feathers agree sometimes tone can be misconstrued
@anon50039658 thank you for jumping in and sending me the invite. not sure why it didn’t come through this morning
@tomsr agree - very exciting as an investor to see the excitement!
Where do you see the counter?
We’re sending out 3k cards this week if all goes to plan
That’s sounding like good news!
Hi Tristan,
Does that mean Monzo are now longer inviting people to the office to sign up and focusing more on mail invites?
Hoping mines in the post box when I arrive home today
And I bet my wife gets chosen for an account before I do ![]()
The entitlement expressed in this thread is mad… It’s a pilot phase, what on earth is everyone expecting?
Gotta agree with that. Let the peeps at Monzo HQ get on with making the product and sending out the cards, rather than reply to whingers on here!
Tho, 3k cards this week is
It’s a trial lol …
Feel like I need to apologise to @anon50039658 et al for creating this thread. My intention was never for people to use this to complain about the speed of the rollout more to enquire if there had been any issues that Monzo wanted to resolve before rolling out to a wider audience.
