Couldn’t agree more! Tons of stuff which has been reported for months and not fixed and seems to be “kicked down the road” e.g. supporting 4 weekly pay (doesn’t impact me) has been something requested for months and not much seems to have been done on it as far as we can tell
Have you noticed any improvements to the app / functionality?
Sure, there has been an improvement in things like Summary/Apple Pay support/helping people switch with CASS, rollout of Joint Account testing and more! So definitely not just bashing them.
I’d just like to see some movement on other things e.g. support on summary for people like me who get paid on the last working day of the month or other non fixed days. Fix the merchant reporting system or at least have a “reported date”. Copy your account details so I don’t have to continuously swap apps (being worked on I think). DD/spending search fixes (e.g. searching for some merchants does not show your whole DD list or merchant transactions etc) and some more things like that.
I know some of this is being worked on but personally feel it’s been fairly slow and could have been prioritised over certain other things
Yeah I’d like to see those improvements too. But obviously they do take time & I can see why some of them are a lower priority than the other improvements they’ve made.
Thing is though when you see things like #Tags and now icons getting priority over issues like merchant data being broken it kinda does grate on people after a while.
Here’s why that’s happening -
Makes sense but I think @anon72173902 and I would have rathered they used that time to fix some of the issues we’ve raised. Although I have no problem with them developing tags in their spare time if that’s what they choose to do instead
Right & I’m sure that other users have different priorities we don’t have access to the info that the team has which you need in order to decide what the priorities should be. Of course you may have your own opinion but..
Yeah but merchant data has been an issue for months, I can find multiple threads on it and it’s so bad that Monzo staff are now asking us to DM them so they can fix it manually.
If something was working with what appeared to have no bugs then all of a sudden bugs come up why not just fix them there and then instead of leaving it to get to the stage where we are at now?
Bugs/Issues are not wants/needs like Apple Pay, pay date changing, CASS etc so don’t really come under ‘priorities’.
What’s the problem with merchant data at the moment? Why isn’t the in-app feedback feature working?
See above, also I report things all the time then the logo will change and the name won’t or nothing will change but the address will. Nothing changes as a whole anymore.
Why isn’t the in-app feedback feature working? You tell me, I don’t seem to recall a reason being posted… it’s just not working.
It’s never worked that well, when it comes to updating both the address & logo, I don’t think anything’s changed. At the same time, although it’s annoying, I don’t think it’s the end of the world..
It did for me back in 16/17 and then got worse. I have submitted the same one so many times I gave up.
Would be nice to have a status feature as to how long it’s gonna be etc but I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
Currently there’s not much that would make me want to leave I’m happy with the service and how it’s working for me it’s been a great experience so far and hope it only gets better the little things like certain merchants without a logo or the name not being completely accurate can be a bit of a pain but easily fixed if you send through a message or use the improve logo & name function lol had to use it a few times sometimes it’s instant others take a bit longer but it gets done eventually.
I’m still in awe of having merchant info and logos at all in my transaction feed, was one of the things that drew me in originally.
I acknowledge there’s room for this to be improved, but would it make me leave? No.
I don’t think I’d get merchant info of this standard anywhere else at present even if it was a deal breaker - which for me it isn’t.
The attitude differences between us all are interesting. I want new functionality while merchant data etc. is niff naff and trivia compared to getting some of the newer stuff out. I mean, fix them if you get time but don’t divert resources from ‘proper’ development.
(Of course this is all from my personal viewpoint. There’s a strong argument for the marketing ‘draw’ of a prettified feed and it’s ability to pull in new customers so I understand that my view is no more correct for Monzo than anyone else’s.)
I can’t argue that pretty feeds are more important than developing other, more functional, features… but it is definitely frustrating when existing functionality that you like appears to be degrading.
Whilst I’m all for new functionality I don’t think other parts of the app should suffer in the mean time which is what is happening.
I don’t think it’s enough to make me leave Monzo but the notifications issue where it counts one transaction as three (Coin Jar and some other mystery notification) is playing hell with my OCD.
Not really a reason for leaving, but my issue (despite being relatively minor) is the card.
It was cool at first, different, but slowly the allure of hot coral is wearing thin (I guess i’m getting old and grumpy), especially how dirty the card looks compared to other older cards.
Yes I could order a new shiny card, but given we’re meant to be reducing plastic…
