What would make Monzo the perfect banking experience?

I’m not sure that folk are being big picture enough here. It’s basic economics: if some cashback leads to greater revenues overall, and still a profit cut on those greater revenues, then it is economically rational for the business. It’s a route to grow profits, not a free money free for all.

No one suggested getting rid of user research. Go back and read what I said!

Cheque imaging and the ability to use Post Offices for cash/cheques

The only thing I would like is images on payees and better merchant images that get processed.

On Post Offices, would free PayPoint be acceptable? What if it was also chargeable at the Post Office?

PayPoint doesn’t work well enough. I’d accept a post office charge.

I would want free access at Post Offices as per other banks.

Free PayPoint might be an alternative but this would be inferior in my view to Post Offices as I don’t believe you can pay in cheques and the current lack of knowledge PayPoint staff have to deal with cash deposits.

Starling charge for the post office now don’t they? Over and above certain amounts?

Which banks can you pay in cheques at the Post Office? I don’t think you can with Starling?

I take the point about lack of knowledge, though. (Go to the Co-Op - it also prevents retailers losing money from PayPoint).

Yes they do. You can deposit £1000 for free then they charge 0.7%.

Soon all banks will charge for this. The Post Office has renegotiated the contracts, and soon it’ll be the monopoly on paying in, once the banks close their branches.

Joint account parity.

for me

  1. custom spending categories for everyone - costs the bank nothing, people love it

  2. cheque processing - would mean I, and many others, wouldnt need that starling account

  3. web browser version for desktop computers

  4. slight improvements to the interface

  5. knowing the help facility is speedy when you need it in times of a major problem

I’d be up for those. I’d also like more providers via open banking, adding manual accounts if provider not available. Joint account has all the same stuff as main account. A first Ā£10 or Ā£20 free on overdraft. Higher interest for paid accounts. Budgeting - backwards and forwards. UX/UI new/cool for v5.0 of the Monzo app

Postoffice deposits and cheque imaging.
Pictures- nice idea

If i was able to access my funds and pay bills with my money in my account and if Monzo would offer real Customer service support and not have Reps respond similar to a bot in helping

What did you do to piss off Monzo?

Here’s a few on my wish list…

:camera_flash: Add photos to payees/companies for Business.
:repeat: Cashback on debit card purchases.
:white_check_mark: Improved Merchant Corrections system.
:money_with_wings: Flex not taking the first payment immediately.
:trophy: More exclusive offers/discounts on other services.
